Orwell, Vermont · 2003 Sales

Announcement   Welcome! We are husband and wife glass artists Brian and Brooke Holzhammer, specializing in contemporary glass sculpture and jewelry since 1996. All of our work is individually flame sculpted so that each piece is as unique as you are. Family Tree Glass is located in Vermont, where we share a passion for glass art in the studio and a love of raising our family together at home. When not in the studio creating, you'll find us busy in some aspect of homesteading or homeschooling.

We use an ancient technique known as lampworking to create each piece individually, without the use of molds, making each piece unique & one of a kind. We use borosilcate (pyrex) glass, the most crack-resistant type of glass available, and then we kiln-anneal each piece overnight to ensure durability.

If you ever need more than the quantities we currently have listed, please contact us. There is no limit to the size of any order. We also offer wholesale and co-op pricing, and occasionally drop-ship opportunities, so feel free to contact us with any questions if you are interested in becoming a Family Tree Glass distributor. Thank you for visiting our etsy shop, you can also check out our webstore and blog at www.familytreeglass.com

About

Meet the Family Tree Glass family: Handcrafting, Homesteading, and Homeschooling

We followed our dreams because one day we asked ourselves, what would be harder than trying to make a living as an artist? Well, that would be both of us trying to make our livings as artists. Then, for an extra challenge, we added 3 kids to the equation, plus a handful of rescued animals, a humble homestead, a splash of stubbornness, and just a dash of denial. That's our guaranteed recipe for success. If you measure your success in family meals, dog kisses, and compost. We do.

Brian's story: Brian began blowing glass in 1995 on an abandoned honey farm in NW Arkansas. After watching a friend teach himself the art of lampworking, Brian had gained enough knowledge to start up his first glass studio in his hometown of Greenville NY. In 1998, Brian opened up his first glass gallery and store in Middletown NY, and later located in Sugar Loaf NY. By 2000, he began teaching his wife Brooke how to sculpt glass, and they have shared a studio ever since.

Brooke's story: Brooke has been sculpting glass since 2000. Always with an emphasis on the human figure, she explored many mediums before being introduced to glass. She then began an apprenticeship with a self-taught glassblower who would also become her husband. Inspired by the possibilities this medium has to offer, Brooke applied lampworking techniques to her ongoing figural studies.

Thanks for shopping family Tree Glass! We have a combined 30+ years of experience making and selling our glasswork, and we love what we do. All of our items are individually flame-sculpted borosilicate (Pyrex) glass, which is harder and more crack-resistant than other types of glass. All pendants come lovingly wrapped in a gift box with a free adjustable length black necklace cord. Everything in our shop was either made by me (Brooke) or my husband, Brian. We then kiln anneal all our work to further ensure durability. You can also see more examples of our artwork at www.familytreeglass.com
