I am a stay at home mom of 2 and half year old twin girls. They were my inspiration for opening my Etsy Shop. I was shopping for their 1st Birthday Outfits and wanted a tutu. I was a little shocked how much they were. I did some research and ordered materials to make my own. I then started making some for friends after they kept seeing my tutu’s at other birthday parties.
I did more research and wanted to make more hair products, then it lead to baskets, and to rompers. So I kept going with ideas and adding them to my shop. But my TWIST to having an Etsy Shop was I did not want to charge so much as the prices I was observing. I did a lot of investigating to try to get the best prices. I also did a lot of research finding wholesale vendors to get the best prices to sell to my customers at the best prices, as well!
And now, here I have it and I do it all by myself! I also do sales tables in my local area to sell more of my goods.
Just an FYI. Some of my creations are pre-made and I just embellish them. For instance, the petti lace romper is pre-made. However, I steam them, create the bows, and attach the embellishment. The headband to match is 100% handmade. I do buy the flowers on a mesh roll, cut them out, get the embellishment prepared, cut the elastic, reinforce it with felt and glue it all together.
About me, most interestingly: I am also what you call a Previvor. I have the BRCA 1(Breast Cancer Gene) Mutation (just like Angelina Jolie). I also volunteer for a non profit organization called FORCE (Facing Our Risk Cancer Empowered). I am an Outreach Coordinator and help fund raise for the organization.
