Announcement   Welcome, friends and fellow space cadets. I've decided that I must retire from my duties as a space voyager to the galaxies and beyond so that I can be an artist and earthling homemaker, instead. Have fun flying about my etsy site.

When you're done, please visit my art web page, deberklein.com where I occasionally blog in The Little Pink Spaceship Gazette about the art of creating; then hop over to my blog, http://restlesslydancingwhilesupperburns.blogspot.com. I am also excited about my most recent blog adventure, http://tarpapersubmarine.blogspot.com, where I offer a variety of unique "how-to's" for artists, teachers, home schoolers and kids!

The best way I can think of to convey my basic philosophy and general information about my Etsy shop is to ask myself questions that I think you may have, and answer them for you.

Q. Why are you an artist, Deborah "deber" Klein?
A. Why does a bird fly? Why does a dog bark? Why does a flower grow? I have no idea. I guess it's just the way we're wired.

Q. With the art you sell in galleries and on your deberklein.com website, why then do you also sell on Etsy?
A. I have this need to experiment with various mediums and venues. I also love to make jewelry, cards and other small items. As a result, I end up a variety interesting little art treasures. I keep a lot of these things for myself, and give some pieces to my many family members. But I still have many sellable items remaining, which I would rather sell via Etsy than through galleries. In order to pay overhead, galleries usually need to double my asking price, driving the price of my small pieces higher than I think they should sell for. So, Hello Etsy!

Q. So. Why do you really sell on Etsy?
A. Ok. I don't really NEED to sell on Etsy, as I confess I'm not making my mortgage payments from my Etsy sales (though that would be cool!). I sell through Etsy because I get great satisfaction from selling my artwork. Even the small items. From having owned my own gallery, I find that small art sales serve two purposes. 1. They give me pocket money which I can use to help pay for my habit...buying art supplies. 2. They give the buyer the pleasure of owning a piece of art or giving a one-of-a-kind special gift. Everybody's happy. Boy-oh-boy! I love that.

3. In most cases, I will process your items within one or two days, but it may take up to a week to get in the mail depending on my schedule. If you need something by a specific date, let me know your target date, and I will do my best to get it there on time, but I cannot guarantee it unless you want to pay the extra shipping charge. Two day guaranteed mail is $12.00 per package.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will give a full refund if an item doesn't arrive.

I pack items so that they should avoid damage in the mail. However, if your item arrives damaged, please notify me and return it and I will replace it with the same item or a close match if possible. If that isn't possible, then return the damaged item and I will give you a refund for the product amount.

Please allow the usual week to 10 days for shipping, as specified by the post office for regular mail. Notify me if the item doesn't arrive within a reasonable time period.
