About

Color, Dreams and Imagination!

In my career as a freelance children's artist and illustrator I create art for books, educational textbooks, books, magazines, greeting cards, posters, products...etc...
I am a graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California where I grew up and spent most of my adulthood.

In freelance art I am bound by the creative direction of the art director or designer. Here in "farah aria studio" I can play!!! Although I may list prints and some originals that I love from freelance illustration, most of what you will find here is fun creative play and inspiration. I hope it brings you or someone you love as much joy as I had creating it.

I live in the beautiful California coastal town of Cambria. I've moved here recently from Pasadena and it's my dream come true! The ocean itself is such a powerful inspiration to my creativity!

I love working in textures and colors. Working with multimedia with my hands is something I don't often get to do in freelance illustration in the past. I did my work by painting digitally in Photoshop with a drawing pad called a Wacom and a special pen. It was easier when my son was little. Now that he's a teen and not grabbing brushes filled with paint off my desk I'm going back to the magical dust of pastels, the creamy opaque glory of gouache colors, and the thrilling texture of acrylic paints on gesso, paper, or wood.

On a great day you will find colors all over my fingers, and sand between my toes!
If you're ever in Cambria look me up and let's take a walk on Moonstone Beach!

Additional policies and FAQs
CARE AND PRESENTATION OF ARTWORK:
Artwork that is created or includes watercolors, gouache, charcoal or pastels will require framing under glass to protect it from moisture. Moisture can ruin artwork, especially accidental spills or even spit (eww…I know…but it happens).

Artwork created using waterproof materials only, such as gesso and acrylic paint can stand alone, especially if painted on canvas or wood cradled canvas. It is ready to hang.

Flat artwork may look best matted and framed. Especially if painted on paper. It will look even better matted and framed.

Art Prints look best matted and framed. Some can be put right into a store bought frame with no matting. It is your choice.

ALL artwork should be kept out of direct sunlight to prevent damage and fading.

You will receive detailed information on the care of your purchase included in your package!

All my artwork is protected under copyright law.
Please don't use my images without my permission.
Image rights do not transfer to sellers when purchasing a work of art.
The image rights are always retained by the artist.
Please respect my posted images and do not reproduce them.

SIGNATURE:
All artwork is titled, signed by me and dated on the back.
Please convo me if you would like me to sign the front or write and inscription.
