Inspired by the seasonality of local produce at my nearby NYC Greenmarket, I began photographing and arranging my weekly hauls into beautiful art.

It all started with my weekly farmers market hauls.

At the time, I lived walking distance from work-- and on Wednesdays-- walking distance from an NYC Greenmarket. I developed a routine during my lunch break on Wednesdays to go to the market and then drop off my haul at home before heading back to work.

My farmers market trips started off quite inconsistent, only occasionally remembering to go when it was Wednesday, and I can now say, quite timid, as I usually only bought apples.

But as time went on, I branched out into other (still, common) fruits and vegetables like cucumbers, blueberries, and kale.

By this time, I knew this statement to be true: everything tastes better from the farmers market.

My love for the farmers market grew and grew, to the point where I put a recurring reminder on my calendar so I wouldn't forget to stop at the market during my lunch break on Wednesdays. Once I started going consistently, the fun REALLY began as I came to notice the seasonality of what was available and the changes from week to week -- so exciting! Holy spring bounties and then SUMMER and then the gems of fall, too 😍😍😍 Winter, not so exciting, but there were always still apples available no matter the weather.

Still, a stark contrast from what I do now: basically buy the most unique items I can find! Fairytale eggplant, gooseberries, edible flowers, purple carrots, purslane, burpless cucumbers, avocado squash, and so much more!

I loved finding out what was in season each week, discovering interesting new produce, buying whatever stood out to me, and learning how to eat it or cook what I bought. (I also develop recipes with my market produce, and share them and pictures as well on my Instagram page @superfoodsaydeez and blog

I'm drawn to colors and eventually started shopping based on what colors popped out to me each week, regardless of whether I had any idea of what I was buying or how to use it (I always make an effort, USUALLY successfully, to eat everything btw). It was so much fun and I was so inspired by all its colorful beauty that I just could not help but start photographing all of it!

I started sharing my colorful farmers market photographs on my Instagram in late 2015 and this further developed my new hobby into a true art. People seemed to really enjoy my pictures and get inspired by them, and I loved the thrill of not knowing what would be in season each week and then the challenge of trying to arrange what I buy into an art picture during my limited lunch break timeframe! The response I received on Instagram inspired me to get certified in something health & nutrition related so I could better answer people's questions: as of December 2016, I'm a certified holistic nutritionist.

I always dreamed of seeing some of pictures in print someday-- only the best ones of course-- and that day has finally come.

After doing tons of research, I invested in the highest quality printer, inks, and paper - that can withstand a lifetime and generations to come, making them a family heirloom.

I hope you enjoy my prints as much as I enjoyed creating them. It is my wish that my prints can bring light, happiness, and inspiration to your home. I hope showcasing the beauty in produce from local farmers will inspire you to shop local and eat more plants. I hope the nature in my prints will bring you peace, serenity, and a sense of groundedness. I hope my designs -- whether bright, moody, playful, or anything in between -- speak to what you're looking for.
