This one-of-a-kind Art Yarn was made by me on my farm, August Moon Farm, in Northern VA. I use the wool from my three sheep, as well as natural fibers from local farms and local dyers. I use natural solar dying methods with my own Finn sheep wool. Using hand carders and a hand-cranked drum carder, the wool and other fibers are combed into batts. These batts may contain my own sheep's wool, local wool, alpaca, cashmere, recycled sari silk, mohair and/or a variety of threads, feathers, and sparkle. The result is then spun by hand on a spinning wheel to produce the final product. Primarily using natural and local fibers, my yarns can be used to knit, crochet, wear, or incorporate into any craft project.
