Announcement   Designer homeware, lighting ,art prints, cushions, wallpaper, blinds and glassware based in Bristol. All items hand made and printed in England.During my Degree in fine art I studied painting, sculpture and photography. Photography became my main discipline. I have worked for over 20years as a lecturer in photography and a Photoshop specialist. I am now combining these skills and producing my own textiles to create feature pieces for the home. The first homeware product was my lampshades and was encouraged by my Husband Toby who was head of lighting for the Oscar nominated film Frankenweenie, so I have had some exellent advise , he even helps put them togeather when I need an extra pair of hands....
This new body of work concentrates on my fascination with flowers and nature. I started working with flowers in the early 1990s. I love the Dutch Baroque works of Abraham van Beijeren and his chaotic compositions of decadence and those of Giovanna Garzoni.
Overall I hope to produce images and products that have an abundance of beauty to inspire and give pleasure to the eye in everyday situations.

About

Artist t turns work into homewares

I have worked as a lecturer of fine art and photography for the last 20 years I really loved teaching. I have artwork shown in Galleries in London and Europe. I am now turning my art work into home designs. I love seeing my work on cushions and lampshades and wall covering as its a way of making my work more available to a wider audience. I really hope you like this idea. I am always available on line to answer any questions you may have about the worked .It’s been a journey of trial and error and a lot of wasted time and money sometimes trying to get the product right, but I am really pleased with everything now. I have had the help of my lovely hubby Toby who is an expert with lighting as he works lighting films for a living ( he just finished the Tim Burton film Frankenweenie) he encouraged me to create the lampshades and keeps me smiling when I feel it’s not going in the right direction.
I really hope this new venture is a success with your help it just might be …………………..please contact me for any further questions or information. Regards All Susan Farrar
