Announcement   My name is Andy and I live in sunny Hollywood, Florida. When I'm not in the pool avoiding the Florida heat, you can find me behind my trusty 1972 Singer sewing machine.

I enjoy working with fun and interesting fabrics and patterns, vintage and new. I am a SciFi geek that also likes mid century modern. My shop is a mix of the styles I love to sew; Hawaiian, Rockabilly and Sci Fi.

I enjoy taking vintage patterns and updating them to more modern fitting styles and construction methods. Vintage styling with modern construction methods means no more busted seams because of old thread, or no rusted sticking zippers.

Some of my personal specialties are:

Aloha shirts with a science fiction and popular culture twist.

Updating vintage patterns to modern sizes.

The "Utili-Lavalava." Samoan style sarong updated with pockets to carry your stuff.

And Creating custom drafted patterns designed to your size.

I'm always working on something so stop by often to see whats new. Or visit my website for a portfolio of my work and to pick a fabric and pattern for your next outfit:

Meet Singer, my trusty workhorse of a sewing machine. She is a Stylist 534 that my mother bought in 1972 and is my primary machine for everything I sew. She doesn't have a lot of fancy options which is fine because quality work doesn't need fancy.

About

Something for you in your size.

My name is Andy Davis and I live in sunny Hollywood, Florida. When I'm not in the pool avoiding the Florida heat, you can find me behind my trusty Singer sewing machine.

My greatest joy in the sewing room is taking vintage patterns and updating them to modern fitting styles and construction methods. Vintage styling with modern construction methods means no more busted seams because of old thread, no rusted sticking zippers, those impossibly small corset waistlines, and worst of all, that old dusty smell that only vintage fabrics can get.

Some of my personal specialties are:
.
Updating and drafting vintage patterns to modern sizes and creating custom drafted patterns designed to your size, including plus sizes.

Shirts from vintage sheets such as Star Wars, Batman and others. A new life for a vintage children's sheet into a stylish shirt.

The "Utili-Lavalava." Samoan style sarong updated with pockets to carry your stuff.

I'm always working on something so stop by often to see what is new. Or visit my website for a portfolio of my work and to pick a fabric and pattern for your next outfit:

I love to sew. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking of what I want to make with a great piece of fabric I have in my studio. Can I add some 4 foot long fringe? yes! Would this be great long with a lined sleeve? Double yes! Let's make it!
