Kyle’s workmanship is beautiful....you will not be disappointed. I also appreciated his communication with me. I ordered this late for a Christmas gift, and he made sure I had it in time. I would definitely order from him again!

I ordered a custom table from Kyle. I love the table he produced. Kyle is a very talented wood worker with a fine sense of detail. The whole process of designing and producing the table was seamless. We discussed the project, Kyle sent me drawing for a approval, we made changes and then Kyle produced a perfect piece of furniture.
Not only is my table beautiful - it arrived safely in a box built to hold it!
I don't think I could be more impressed or thankful for the experience of working with Kyle and receiving the piece of art he created.
    Thank you Kyle!

About

Modern Cools. Traditional Tools.

FaulknerWoodshop was born from a desire to step away from the scale of architecture towards a scale of handmade furniture. Exercising a need to design for everyday human use and to build with my own hands, I’ve turned a corner of my apartment into a workshop in order to have a space to build these unique pieces for you (and some for myself as well).

I focus on the use of hand tools and traditional joinery, partly out of necessity, but mostly because of an interest in well-crafted, heirloom furniture that is built to last. Hand tool work encourages attention to detail and results in a noticeably hand-built character in each piece of furniture.

Most of my work follows a decidedly modern/mid century styling. Crisp, clean lines meet strong dovetails. Unadorned faces and tapered legs meet robust mortise and tennis. Modern cools meets old school tools.

Chicago architect with a love for woodworking. After laying down the craft from my childhood days in 4-H to study architecture, I rediscovered woodworking as a professional with a desire to design and create at the human scale.
