Lucky to have good genes. Dad was creative and nurtured the same in me. At age 10, I was designing and crocheting clothes for my dolls. I dabbled in painting, papier maché sculptures, making my own clothes, took classes in stained glass and photography.

I've always loved color, texture and jewelry and made my own necklaces before it was cool to wear "handmade". Many were gifts, then friends and family urged me to sell them. I studied jewelry making, improved my skills, learned new techniques and started creating more sophisticated pieces. I guess my creative heritage brought me to start FavoriteBlings at Etsy back in 2008.

I start each necklace with excitement, striving for beauty and originality. There's nothing cookie-cutter here - each necklace, bib, choker, Y-drop and lariat is personally created by me in the USA and is totally one of a kind.

I take great pride that each piece is the real thing, made with genuine semi-precious gemstones, authentic natural druzies, real coral, true minerals, top quality components and precious, noble and safe hypoallergenic metals from trusted sources, designed with originality, passion and attention to detail. My necklaces never have any plated or mystery metals, there's no lead, no cadmium or toxic heavy metals, no "German" silver or "Tibetan silver".

But there's more to this story... Besides applauding my creativity, my dad gave me another gift -- a love for things of the past. Dad taught me early on that pre-owned stuff could be re-used, re-loved. On long ago weekend trips in NJ, NY and PA, we foraged for usable or wearable old and cool treasures.

I guess I can honestly say I was always a passionate "collector". Even at a young age, I used to travel with him to flea markets, sometimes at sunrise! And there were garage, porch, house, barn and estate sales and antique shops. We hunted for and collected old things back when it wasn't chic to shop for pre-owned stuff. I bought what caught my eye, enjoyed the hunt for treasures.

I bought what I liked and what I could afford. But that was then, this is now. And now, after collecting so many antique and collectible vintage items over the years, space constraints meant downsizing. While I say “collector”, my family says “pack rat”. So I'm selling my pre-loved antique and vintage items - celluloid, bakelite, Little Leather Library, stereograph cards, '40s cordé purses, wall pockets, seamed nylons, and other antique and vintage treasures, plus retro jewelry I bought at NYC designer studio sales.
