Note from shop owner Dear customers,
We are taking a break from Etsy while we figure out how to mitigate the extra costs of Etsy’s new advertising policy and charges. We will be back when we figure out the items on which we can afford to pay an additional 15% commission to Etsy.
We can be reached at maggiekingpottery [!at] gmail.com in the meantime or we will be periodically be checking messages here. Or find us on Facebook at Feed the Ravens.
Thank you for what has been an epic month of sales during this uncertain and difficult time for all of us.

On Etsy since 2011

Two travelers who found each other through craft.

We began Feed The Ravens in 2010 while living and working in Germany. Between our day jobs, we spent time honing our respective crafts, traveled extensively and made friends with several craftspeople in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. We worked closely with them, commissioning specific replicas of archaeological finds. They were, and continue to be, master artisans in jewelry making, blacksmithing, weaving, woodworking and bone carving. We sell their work alongside our leatherwork and ceramics.

As our business grew, we shifted away from replicas to designing and making original, modern home objects and wearables inspired by our study of ancient history and archaeology. We left our jobs in 2014, moved home to the United States and became full-time artisans. We still travel to Europe every year to connect with our friends, collect unique items, and explore Europe's extensive craft heritage.

Shop members

  • Scot King

    Owner, Maker, Curator

I am a raconteur, traveler, curator and maker. I’ve ventured worldwide to be inspired by other craftspeople, to learn from them and laugh with them. I am fortunate to be able to create alongside my wife, collaborating or just working side by side.

  • Maggie King

    Owner, Maker, Designer

I am enthralled by the mark makers of ancient Europe. The earliest pottery is, to me, some of the most elegant. While studying ancient pots I often find surprising similarities between cultures half a world and ages apart.

  • Mr. Buddy

    Marketer, Human Relations Manager

Mr. Buddy has recently left behind his vagabond lifestyle, forgoing his former feral existence to become a civilized, indoor dog with a career in Human Relations. In his later years, he's decided he is enjoying the comfort and security of a family.

Production partners

  • Nail Manufacturer

    Arzberg, Germany

The oldest nail manufacturer in Germany, they make the finest forged nails in the world.

Welcome to Feed the Ravens, step in to the magic of slow craft with Scot and Maggie King, makers, travelers, curators who believe in the beauty of the everyday.
We’re especially drawn to material culture—considered, well-crafted objects used in everyday life. We value the household working tools and decoration of the lives of the non-elite.

Many crafts are quickly dying under the pressures of the Internet, globalization, mass production, and a disposable society. So, whether a craft has existed for a hundred years or a thousand, we seek it out. We love meandering through the stalls of small, local markets and speaking to craftspeople about their art. Then we work with those artisans to keep their work alive by bringing it to you.
