Origin of the Species
Correva l'anno 2004. Avevo fatto piccoli disegni di mostri (circa 1 pollice quadrato) e stavo cercando modi per espandermi in altri media. Un amico mi ha suggerito di trasformare i disegni in sculture in argilla polimerica. Non avevo mai lavorato con l'argilla polimerica prima, ma ero cresciuto giocando con l'argilla ceramica nel negozio di ceramiche di mia nonna, quindi non era molto lungo. Ho iniziato a realizzare il mio primo lotto di sculture di mostri in argilla polimerica, che ho deciso di chiamare Feeping Creatures su suggerimento di un amico. Poi li ho portati a una convention locale di fantascienza, hanno venduto sorprendentemente bene, e ne sono rimasto affascinato! Da allora ho inflitto mostri al mondo.
The year was 2004. I had been making tiny drawings of monsters (about 1 inch square) and was looking for ways to expand into other media. A friend suggested I transform the drawings into polymer clay sculptures. I hadn't really worked with polymer clay before, but I had grown up playing with ceramic clay in my grandmother's ceramics shop, so it wasn't much of a stretch. I set about making my first batch of polymer clay monster sculptures, which I decided to call Feeping Creatures based on a suggestion from a friend. I then took them to a local science fiction convention, they sold surprisingly well, and I was hooked! I have been inflicting monsters on the world ever since.
