Birds are fun to do. Whether copying real ones or making up my own colorful new ones, there's so much variety in them.
Crazy About Animals and Felting
I believe I was born loving animals and birds. From domestic pets to the wildlife outside my window to exotic animals in other countries, I am crazy about them all. To be able to create simple versions of some of them in needle felting is a real joy.
Like a lot of people, I’ve gone thru many craft phases in my life. When I first became aware of needle felting in the beginning of 2013, and saw the kinds of 3-D figures that could be made, I knew right away that I wanted to try it. My real inspiration for this was the hope of making little images of my own pets. At first I bought just the most basic needs for it, but within no time I was stocking up on more and more supplies, because I knew it was something I’d want to be doing a lot of, for a long time. It’s such a fun thing and a simple pleasure to take a piece of wool and see what you can turn it into, and I think each needle felted item you see is unique in its own special way.
My shop's name, Felt With A Heart, came about from my love of doing needle felting, and also because each figure I make has a signature heart shape felted on it or a small heart-shaped button attached to it. Sometimes in a very obvious spot, sometimes not.
A portion of my sales goes to various nonprofit animal welfare/rescue organizations. Animal rescue and welfare is very dear to my heart;

I try to have a range of affordable prices in my shop. Please understand that needle felting is a very time intense process, and each handmade item can take hours or days to complete, depending on the item being made, the size, and the amount of detail involved. Its fun for me, but time consuming too.
Please keep in mind that I specialize in figures that are much more on the whimsical side, rather than lifelike or exact replicas, which you can see if you view most of the listings in my shop. If you are looking for an exact miniature replica of your pet or a person, there are many shops on etsy that will happily take a custom order to do this for you. Thank you.

In the case of a package being returned to me due to incorrect address provided, customer will be responsible for paying any new shipping fees.
NOTE ON SHIPPING TIMES: All of my listings shown are ready to ship. Purchases are shipped as quickly as possible (1-3 days after payment is received) by First Class Mail, with a delivery confirmation, unless otherwise noted. At times I may temporarily adjust the wording to say a longer time for shipping, due to or bad winter weather, but generally I am still shipping in one or two days, and will always let you know of delays longer than that, or any problems.
Please understand that once the package is in the hands of the post office, any delays in delivery time are beyond my control..
If you are buying something to be sent as a gift, I would be happy to include a complimentary card or note with your personal message in the package, if you let me know when you place the order.
The boxes I use to ship orders are sometimes used ones, but I make sure they are clean and still do the job. Please reuse or recycle all packaging....thank you!

Additional policies and FAQs
Colors you see on your screen may not be quite the exact colors of the item. I photograph my listings as carefully as possible, but colors can vary between devices.
PLEASE NOTE: All of my listings are made of wool, and some contain things like buttons, beads, wiring, etc, as described. While they can handle gentle play, they are not meant for very small children (unless well supervised) or pets of any kind, and should be kept out of their reach, as these materials being chewed or swallowed could cause a choking hazard.
A portion of my proceeds are being donated to an animal welfare group. There are many that I admire, so I will choose a different one each time I make the donation, and I thank you for allowing me to help support them in this small way.
