This piece is certainly as beautiful as advertised. It was a little bit late in coming and the response time from Jen was longer than I would have preferred, but that seems to be the exception rather than the norm based on other reviews.

About

She Who Is Brave Is Free

☯☮∞☮☯
I work closely with a group of 3 indigenous Mayan families in the highlands of Guatemala to produce this unique line of leather bags. The cows are raised sustainably and ethically, and no part of the animals are wasted, instead providing sustenance for the community. The same hands that tan the hides also cut and sew every stitch and seam, even shredding the fringe by hand. In this process, great care and attention to detail produce beautifully high quality, long-lasting works of wearable art. All designs are my own, and are unique to Femme Feralle.
☯☮∞☮☯
Each silk scarf I have designed from the heart, to honor the sacred songs and incomparable flight of our bird kin. The fabric is 100% Silk Habotai, and is printed, pressed to set the inks, cut, and sewn by hand. Each scarf is handled individually and with care in Montreal, Canada. The natural Silk fabric is locally sourced, and is printed with eco-friendly pigment inks that are safe for the environment.
☯☮∞☮☯
My lineage is with the Choctaw Nation, and I have also felt a deep kinship with the indigenous Mayans during my visits to Central America. So my designs reflect a connection with nature and an indigenous, tribal aesthetic, including both the Mayan textiles and Native American stylistic details, as well as the bohemian gypsy flair that fuels my wanderings. 10% of all purchases made at Femme Feralle each month are recirculated back into a movement for peace through great organizations doing good work around the world.

••••//How to Apply a Temporary Tattoo//••••

//////Step 1: The Set Up//////
Figure out where you would like to apply the tattoo. These aren’t permanent but I pride myself on the lifespan of the tattoos. So, make sure you have it where you want it. When you have the perfect position, remove the plastic cover off your temporary tattoo. Peel away!

//////Step 2: The Initiation//////
Separate the plastic from the paper and stick the paper onto your body with the tattoo side facing down. Fear not, though, if you fail to place it exactly where you want; you get about 10 tries with these things. (Even when it doesn’t stick anymore, the tattoo will still transfer to your skin.) Once in the appropriate spot, apply pressure to your temporary tattoo. You want to be sure to cover the tattoo with your hand and apply pressure evenly.

//////Step 3: The Main Event//////
Place the wet cloth, hand towel, or sponge on top of the tattoo paper, ensuring that you cover the entire tattoo. Be sure to completely saturate the paper because the water is what releases the tattoo from the paper. Now keep the towel there for at least 30 seconds (for best results hold the towel there for one full minute).

//////Step 4: The Moment of Truth//////
Once you have held the tattoo there for about 30-60 seconds you can either gently slide, or peel the paper away from the temporary tattoo. Remove the wet towel and slowly begin to peel the corner of the tattoo paper away from your skin. While you perform this step be sure that the tattoo isn’t having separation anxiety. If the tattoo isn’t leaving the paper cleanly go ahead and repeat steps two and three over again until the tattoo lies beautifully on your body without any of it sticking to the paper.

//////Step 5: The Secret Step//////
Now that the tattoo is on and you are looking great, you’re probably itching to show it off to all your friends. However, instead of running out into the world giddy with excitement, take a moment to dab away the excess water with a dry towel and rub just a tiny bit of lotion on that bad boy. (The old saying, ‘A dot is a lot,’ truly applies here). Performing this secret step will give the tattoo a little added vibrancy while also extending its lifespan. Pretty sweet eh?

//////Show off your tats!//////
At this point the tattoo should be completely applied and looking great. It will stay on for 5 - 7 days with normal wear and tear and only a few days if you’re out there sweating heavily or rolling around in the mud.

••••// How To Extend The Life of Your Temporary Tattoo //••••

While tattoos can react differently to various skin types and climates, there are a few things that you can do to keep that tattoo looking good as long as possible.

//Site preparation//
The tattoo is only as good as it's initial bond. Excessive oil and dirt buildup on the skin can significantly reduce the life of your temporary tattoo. Clean the area where the tattoo is to go with soap and water. A gentle skin exfoliant to remove any dead skin is recommended but a washcloth will also do in it's place.

//Watch the Hair//
Avoid applying tattoos to overly hairy areas. Hair can hinder the adhesive from forming a solid bond with the skin. I wouldn't go as far as shaving the intended area but as a general rule of thumb try to avoid hairy areas.

//Sweat the small stuff//
Timing can be key. Don't apply your tattoo before a workout or any period of physical exertion. Perspiration can significantly reduce your tattoos lifespan. Large amounts of sweat have a tendency to work the adhesive loose and start premature flaking of your tattoo.

//Placement//
This might seem like a no brainer but avoid placing your tattoos on areas of the skin that crease (Joints) or experience high amounts of friction. Elbows, bottoms of feet, and inner arms.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

•••••//How To Remove Your Tats//••••

//////Step 1: Gather your tools.//////

You will need a couple things before you take off on your mission to remove this temporary tattoo. I recommend acquiring one or more of the following: baby oil, rubbing alcohol, and/or household clear tape (for newly applied tattoos).

//////Step 2: Start the process.//////

Choose your weapon -- baby oil or rubbing alcohol -- and apply it to your temporary tattoo. I recommend letting it sit on the tattoo for a couple minutes, this allows the adhesive to be lifted from the skin.

//////Step 3: Removal. //////

Once you have allowed the tattoo to be saturated by the rubbing alcohol or the baby oil, use a cotton pad or wet paper towel to rub over the tattoo and remove as much as possible. Do not be alarmed if there are still little specks hanging out on your skin, we will grab those guys in the last step.

//////Step 4: Trick shot.//////

This is the masterful trick that I have discovered works best for those soldiers who have been left behind on your skin after you have removed the majority of the tattoo. Take a piece of house hold tape and wrap it around a couple fingers with the sticky side out. Use this to pull the little stragglers off of your skin!

//////Step 5: Grab a new tat.//////

Now that you have successfully become a master in removing tattoos, you can apply a new one. No one wants to have a naked spot on their skin that was once covered with an amazing temporary tattoo, so applying a new one only makes sense!

This is the easiest practice for removing temporary tattoos and by following these steps you will be able to remove the temporary tattoos from your skin quickly, easily, and best of all painlessly.
