I ordered six sachets in all different colors, they arrived today SO fast and in fantastic condition. I LOVE them. I have been looking for sachets all over etsy and all I could find were super frilly country grandma patterns for a lot more money. These were ideal. Thank you so much!

I love this scarf. The color and dye pattern are gorgeous and the jersey material is soft and and surprisingly warm.

ancient techniques + modern styles & colors

I started Fennel Studio to make functional soft items that honor the fiber art traditions I love so much.

Shibori dyeing is a lot of effort but worth the beautiful results. I hand-bind each section with thread, either tying or sewing, creating patterns that I won't see until I unravel the threads after dyeing. It's a slow, careful process but in the end the results are amazing. I was lucky enough to research shibori in Arimatsu, Japan. I had very patient elderly Japanese ladies fuss over my technique, and I didn't understand a word they said but I think I got the point. :)

I also love to crochet. It's the perfect way to pass the time during Minnesota winters. I know it's a hobby many of us Etsy folks have, but I try to make mine special and unique. I hand-dye the yarn when possible in colors that flatter and surprise. I emphasize texture and simple pattern so my craftsmanship stands out. And, because of my Minnesota influence, each crochet product is definitely going to keep you warm and cozy!

I have a BA and MA in fiber art and I don't miss an opportunity to learn more. The work I create for you is the product of years of study, care, and love for beautiful fabric.
