About

Fernbeds Shop

The pieces I create reflect subject matters pertaining to biological deconstructionism, nature's legacy, alchemy, fables and counter-religious belief. In an orchestra of hyper-textured saturation, each piece is a cacophony of silent movement and erratic soliloquies. I work with a pencil in attempt to "paint" with the graphite; and with paper because of the unforgiving quality it possesses.

Nicomi Nix Turner was raised in Southern Oregon. The Pacific Northwest upbringing kindled an affinity for the botanical and entomological. Her hyper-detailed illustrations invoke a surreal understanding of the perfection in nature.

Thank you for visiting Fernbeds, my online store for original illustrations.
Each piece is one of a kind and illustrated on archival hot press paper. I use both Arches and Somerset paper due to their high quality and finish. If not signed and dated at the bottom, each piece contains hidden initials.

Works on paper are very fragile in their nature. Although each piece is professionally sealed with a UV Archival protective, I strongly recommend that you hang these works in an area that does not get direct sunlight or moisture.

It takes quite a long time to create each piece as they are filled with incredible detail. I do not erase unless it is absolutely necessary!
