About

Art(ist) Teacher Life

I am currently an art teacher in the Cleveland, OH area. I always knew, at least for as long as I can remember, that I would be an art teacher. What I didn't know, though, is that I would find such an abundance of inspiration from seeing my students work and create everyday. To watch them succeed and create gives me the courage to perpetually create and put myself out there for anyone to see. I find it so captivating how we spend our childhoods believing we can do anything but adulthood often creeps in slowly and makes us believe otherwise. Regardless, I'm thrilled beyond belief to be taking the plunge into the world of selling my own goods.

In addition to teaching, I almost always have a paintbrush or a crochet hook in my hand. Idle hands are my nemesis. I believe in sharing art with the world and giving everyone the opportunity to appreciate art. I also believe that handmade products and art should always be accessible and affordable to all. Because of this, it is my sincere hope you find my price points to be reasonable for your budget. If this is ever a problem or concern, please contact me and I promise you we will work together to find the best solution. You deserve wonderful, handmade goods just as much as anyone else. I also started this shop to help pay for those pesky little things we call student loans. With every purchase, you're helping me (slowly but surely) pay back my student loans and help save for my future. You can rest easy knowing your money is being put to a good use ... and you even get some art out of the whole deal! How great is that?!

Lastly, thank you very much for taking the time to browse my shop and products. Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or you would like to discuss a custom order. Have a wonderful day and stay glossy! :)

Hello and thank you so much for your interest in Fiber and Gloss. I am a high school art teacher by day and an avid painter and crocheter by evening. I'm unafraid of bold colors or loud patterns, and my products can bring this to you and your space! I strive for perfection in all that I do, so you can rest assured your piece will be both unique and of a high level of craftsmanship.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
Unless there is damage that occurred during the shipping process, all sales are final. In the case of damage, photographic evidence will be required. If you would like an exchange, though, I will be happy to set that up, but you are responsible for paying for return shipping.
Payment
Paypal and Direct Checkout forms of payment are accepted.

Please make sure your address and email are correct when placing an order.

You must have a "Confirmed" shipping address on Paypal when placing an order, and they both must match on your Etsy order and on the Paypal confirmation page.

I am not responsible for orders shipped to an invalid or incorrect shipping address, so please double check!!!

I LOVE to do custom orders and commission pieces, but if you are interested in this, I do require half of the total price to be paid upfront. I do this as an added protection for me as well as to cover any necessary out of pocket material costs. You will then pay the second half of the total price in addition to any shipping charges once I have completed your item.
Shipping
On Time Delivery

All of my available products will be shipped in 1-3 business days using USPS First Class or Priority depending on size/weight. Any custom orders may take 2-4 weeks to ship to allow time for acquiring necessary materials and for me to create your product.

All products ship with delivery confirmation, and you will receive an email when your shipping labels have been printed. A tracking number will be generated right away, and you will be able to keep track of exactly where your order is.

I package my items well for the shipping process to prevent damage. All canvases are packed between two sheets of stiff corrugated cardboard, wrapped in paper, and then put in a very secure and durable bubble mailer. Even though I try my best to get your items to you safely, please know that I do not have control over how the USPS will handle your items during transit. Please let me know if any damages or other errors have occurred so we can figure out how to come to the best solution. Photographic evidence of this will be required.
Additional policies and FAQs
If you see anything you like in my shop but would like something slightly different or specially unique for you, please let me know! I would LOVE to create a custom piece just for you!

My FAVORITE thing to do in my Etsy shop is custom orders/commission pieces for YOU! I've never really found one style of painting I prefer over everything else, so I am able to do a very wide assortment of subject matter/styles.

If you are interested in a custom order, I will require half of the total payment upfront as a protection for me and to cover upfront out of pocket costs. I do this by creating a listing reserved especially for you. Once I receive your payment, I will order materials and begin work on your painting right away. You will be informed every step of the way as to my progress, and I will send you in progress photos as I go so you may request any changes or additions. Once the item is complete, I will photograph and list it with the second half of the total cost in addition to any shipping charges that apply.

All of my items (whether they are sold or active listings) can be remade in any size just for you to meet your exact needs. Price will change as the size changes, of course.
