I ordered the arrow monogram design as tote bags, to use as favors for my tiny wedding at Schoodic Point. I was scrambling at the last minute to find and order the perfect gifts and was so lucky to find these folks who were incredibly accommodating about my custom order request. On top of that, they made sure that the shipment arrived on time, even though time was very tight. The bags themselves are sturdy and spacious. I was expecting skinny tote bags, but they are much wider. My bridesmaid used hers to carry her laptop around all weekend so she could upload photos. Such great people to deal with as well. If I could give 6 stars, I would :-)
The story of Fiber and Water
The crew over here at Fiber and Water is excited to share some background stories, style, and fresh deals with YOU. We would love to hear feedback, start a conversation, and get to know our customers. So don't you be shy!
Fiber and Water all started as an accidental side project. While Miles, the owner, was screen printing various designs on t-shirts and canvas, he hadn't found that spark needed for a full business. His wife, April, suggested the idea of burlap, with all of it's textured, rustic beauty. With that, Fiber and Water took off. Production began right away in their Portland, Maine studio apartment.
As business quickly grew, the apartment was spilling over with burlap art. Miles found a small storefront in Portland, set up shop, and doubled the size of Fiber and Water. So we are in the first office for one year, and things are getting tight. I mean, making a 6 inch pathway between piles of boxes kind of tight. In order to continue to expand and progress, it was time to say goodbye to Brighton Avenue and move onto bigger and better things- a real warehouse style shop.
Today we continue to utilize the space of our John Roberts Road home. In just 2 years Fiber and Water has grown with the help of our fabulous customers that keep spreading the word and coming back for more prints. It is always humbling to throw it way back to the start of the business and see how far we have come.
