In 1963 I was born into a family where needlework was an everyday activity. My mother taught me sewing and crochet, then I taught myself to knit from the instructions in a magazine. 4-H competitions in my youth kept me striving for better results with every project. Knitting is my favorite craft, although I sometimes combine several techniques in my designs.
