About

Our powers combined...

It all started with a panic attack and a joke.
I had just moved to the city, and was going through a quarter-life crisis (it's a real thing, I tell ya). Adjusting to the changes from small town to Windy City was harder than I had ever imagined, and knitting ended up playing a major part in reducing my anxiety (but got me really friendly with grandmas on public transportation).

As it turned out, I LOVED knitting, and started playing around with my own designs. My friends thought they were pretty cool, and I found myself with a growing stash of arm warmers. My coping mechanism had turned into a +1 in my craft skill.

Eventually I started talking to friends, collaborating on potential pieces with them, realizing how much they loved being involved in customized work. As more of a joke, I began creating pieces named after my favorite authors or characters in mythology, gothic fiction, even real life maniacs, and wrote short scenes inspired by them. It became a huge hit with everyone as well, and they insisted I include it with my items.

My joke had turned into a part of my brand.

When I stop to think about it (as I often do), I realize my family and friends (creepy, innovative and hilarious as they are) are as much a part of my shop as I am. Without their support, I'd still be sitting on the train, alternating between knitting a scarf and reading the latest volume of Hack/Slash (more jarring than you think).

And now here I am, and I can't wait to show you all of my ideas. My friends' ideas. I can't wait to show you Your ideas. I kinda know where this is going, but everyone I encounter is going to help shape it. And that's pretty awesome.

Storytelling and creating with my hands--it's just what I do. Sharing and inspiring creativity within others is what I live for. Therefore, it seemed absolutely necessary that I create a shop that allows me to do all of these things at once.

You found me! How delightful. Go on, take a look around. I trust you not to touch anything. ;)

I started this shop with two main ideas: That the written word can often serve as the best catalyst for creation, and that individuality can come to life through collaboration.

-As an avid reader and writer, many of my items come with original 'stories' involving the character that inspired their creation.

-While I will happily sell all of my items as-is, it would please me even more if you wanted to customize them. The feeling you get when wearing an accessory or piece of clothing that was, in part, designed by YOU is a great feeling, I promise.

I try to use yarn that was obtained ethically, and am a huge supporter of smaller businesses (duh).

If you have any questions about Anything At All, please feel free to contact me, and I will answer as quickly as possible.
Enjoy!
