5 out of 5 starsi love this hat. i',0h geez, just did the math on the calculator and found i'll be 70 in june-that's a scary thought all of a sudden. anyway-point is i'm old enough to wear the long version if i want, but i'll have to do the same cap in a 'beanie' version for my sister. i know what a bunch of my grandchildren are getting for christmas!!many thanks, gina made 2 already but as requested, in pastels. FUN and easy pattern, but i knit it flat and then seamed it. no problems. ready to start a 'brights' one, what a fun and easy pattern.

About FiddlestyxStudios
Fiddling around with sticks and string....................
The misty morning fog lifts off the pond as I inhale the damp air on my way out to the porch with my first cup of coffee.
My favorite time of day.
What will I do today?
Tweak that new hat design, the one with the frog on it?
There’s also that pattern I need to write up and publish.
Or maybe a photo shoot is in order, the light really is nice today…..
My knitting needles click softly as I ponder the possibilities.
There are other daily tasks also waiting to be done.
A garden bed in need of a good weeding.
Laundry to be washed and hung in the sun to dry.
Dinner to be planned.
I take another sip of coffee.
Exhale.
And smile.
I know what I’ll do.
I’ll knit.
Welcome to Fidlestyx™.
My designs are inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds me in New Hampshire. The water, the woods, the abundant wildlife and flowers - all are constant sources of inspiration.
I believe a hand knitted garment has love knit right into it, one stitch at a time. In this current world of instant gratification and mass-manufacturing, I strive to emphasize the value of handmade and focus on the process itself. I feel the tactile, sensory process of knitting deserves quality materials and I use mainly yarn from independent mills and farms in the U.S.A. Raised, dyed, and spun by people who are as proud and passionate about what they do as I am.
Prototype hats, created during the design process, are donated to sick children at several local Children's Hospitals. I hope my hats help to turn a tear into a smile on a little one's face.
Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad you're here!
Happy knitting,
♥ Martha
