For (and from) the kid at heart

It all began in February 2008 when I worked part time and wanted to do something with all my free time that could bring in some extra money. Since I'm still a kid at heart (and always will be) I started sewing stuffed animals. I wanted to create something cute that could delight children - and adults too for that matter! Today I work full time but have continued to sew animals in my spare time.

I have designed the patterns for the animals myself and I sew everything on my sewing machine. What began with a monkey named Choco soon became puppies, cats, pigs and rabbits. The first puppy I sew was Kokos, who I sold just the day after he was "born". I started selling my animals through my Swedish blog and as in many cases, many of them found their new home by word of mouth. Since I wanted to offer my customers the security of a real web shop and myself the delightment of being part of a creative community, I opened my Etsy shop in July 2011.

I've sewn hundreds of animals. Most of them are sold - or adopted as I prefer to say - but some of them have stayed with us. Choco's happy little face was so dear to me that he never left home. He has also become the hallmark for ::fina:: mjuka djur. Other animals that still live here with us are Putte the puppy, Kola & Knäck the Christmas puppies, Nougat the pig and Kissen the retro kitten.

Otherwise, my animals live here and there in Sweden - and the dog Otto moved to France. Several have also moved to the US; puppy Blueberry and Tulip the mini pig live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the bunny Daffodil lives in Houston, Texas.

My name is Josefine but I have always been called fina - hence the name ::fina:: mjuka djur. I live with my husband and cat in our newly built house in Sweden, and here's where my stuffed animals come to life.

Welcome to my world of soft animals! I sew well behaved little creatures as well as wild little pirates. They are all my own design and are popular gifts for newborns, as christening gifts or for any child at heart!

All animals have safety eyes and noses.

All animals are handmade by me, so no two items are identical.
