5 out of 5 starsI LOVE THIS!! It's perfect - exactly what I was looking for :) Seller has good communication about items, and item was shipped quickly. I will definitely be ordering from this seller again in the future instead of buying that poor quality mass produced stuff from China! Thanks!!

5 out of 5 starsLovely. My Mom is 94 and is now insisting on leaving her white hair long. She's wearing barrettes. She will love this. Thank you.
About FinnandRose
I love to combine leather with natural elements, vintage components and found objects to create simple, pretty pieces for everyday wear.
I love combining leather with natural elements, vintage components and found objects to create simple statement pieces. I have been handcrafting my own jewelry and home decor for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I collected rocks, twigs, leaves and shells on weekend hikes with my family to create my own jewelry and room decor. In high school, I enrolled in a graphic design program and was aesthetically drawn to the subtleties of random patterns in nature that often complemented the more deliberate human-generated designs. I started collecting broken pieces of jewelry, along with random scraps of leather, metal, fabric and wire, and combining them with natural elements to create jewelry and wall art.
After earning a B.S. in Conservation Biology from the University of Maine in 2001, I began working as an environmental educator in "Downeast" coastal Maine. I took every opportunity to collect pebbles, twigs, and shell fragments along local trails and beaches to incorporate into new creations "someday", when I had more time.
When my husband, Jason, and I were expecting our second child in 2008, I began working from home as a freelance business writer and started investing more time into creating jewelry. With a few leather belts rescued from the local GoodWill, I began creating bracelets and barrettes for myself between writing projects. Encouraged by the many compliments I received, I created a a few pieces as gifts for friends and family. They were a hit! I rented space at a couple of local craft shows, and did fairly well. Though an Etsy enthusiast from the start, it still took me a while to take the plunge and open my own shop here in 2013 (there are just so many amazingly talented artisans creating beautiful things!).
Today I work from my home studio - a dynamic, creative art space shared with my two children, ages 8 and 5, who bring a vibrant and exuberant energy and are often the inspiration for my designs.
I am so excited to have this incredible opportunity to offer some of my inspired creations through Etsy. I hope you will find a piece that you love! If you have a specific idea or design in mind that you don't find here, please contact me. I would love to create a special piece just for you!
