My turn around time for Made to Order Items is 4-6 weeks, in stock items ship in 1-2 business days. You can double check the turn around to the right of the photos Shipping. It will tell you when the items will ship.

ORDERS FOR AUGUST/ BURNING MAN NOW REQUIRE RUSH FEES. THESE SPOTS ARE LIMITED.

I will be out of the shop and vending during these dates and it will cause shipping delays around these times.

Sept 28th through Oct 1st 2018

October 21st- 31st- Vending at Endless Night Vampire Ball in New Orleans

Feb 15th- March 1st 2019 for Lineapelle in Milan, Italy

Orders that would ship around these dates may be delayed.

Things you should know when ordering;

1: My current turn around time is 4-6 weeks. Items that are in stock ship immediately and will have a note in the item description. Rush orders are available for a fee.

2: All sales are final. I will accept order cancellations within 24 hours after the order is placed, but after that I will no longer cancel and refund orders. I am happy to make size adjustments on orders if you receive your wearable and something isn't sitting quite right.

3: If you need your item by a certain date (even if it is after the 4-5 week mark) please let me know in the Notes to Seller section when ordering.

I CANNOT PSYCHICALLY PREDICT IF AN ORDER IS FOR A SPECIFIC EVENT OR DATE. If you don't notify me that you need an item by a specific date, or don't notify me until late in the game then I cannot guarantee your item will arrive on time. I do not cancel orders because they won't arrive by your need by date when I am not informed of the date when the order is placed.

I make everything you see on my Etsy in my shop by hand. I am quite absolutely a one person shop. Please understand that my turn around time is what it is because that is how many orders I have in queue, as well as needing to keep the store stocked and shows I need to vend at. I also sometimes have to take sick and or personal days from working, just like everyone else. I understand everyone wants their orders quickly, and I assure you I am working as fast as I can, but please understand there is no factory behind me and nothing here is made overseas or manufactured by someone else. Most of the things I make are very elaborate and take time.

While these look cool, they are completely unusable. They were part of a $600+ purchase and I can’t even use them, they are not balanced at all and the handle is actually painful to hold on to because of the weight. This was part of my most expensive bdsm purchase and is completely unusable. These items are nonreturnable and now extremely cute paperweights.

Here is a link to a video of your floggers being used for a demonstration https://www.instagram.com/p/BouOQ1UBwSz/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Allow me to clear up some myths about flogger balance. Balancing means the handle of the flogger has been counterweighted to balance the tails and create a centrifugal point on the handle. It doesnt make the flogger lighter. A heavy flogger with a lot of leather will still be heavy and have some pull when thrown. Some designs, like my thumpers and the jekyl and hyde pictured here, are built to have a lot of momentum in the tails and pack more of a punch while being lighter than a monster mop flogger, but they will still be heavier than your typical flogger. The Thumper you purchased weighs just shy of 2 pounds and the J&H just shy of 3 in their entirety.

Each of these floggers weighs a little over a pound. Ball handle floggers are not balanced like traditional handled floggers. Balance on a flogger means the handle has been counterweighted to balance the weight of the tails and create a centrifugal point of motion. Since the entire handle of a ball handle is held in the hand when used, there is no way to counterbalance.

About

What is Firebird Leather about?

Firebird Leather was once Firebird Floggers. I started creating leather floggers because I wanted well crafted items with brilliant colors and various designs and they weren't available in my area. I wanted people to be proud to own one of my pieces and I wanted to make custom items that reflected peoples unique tastes.

Eventually I began creating things other than floggers, but the general principals still stood. I wanted to create wearable items that expressed and celebrated individuality and creativity and I wanted them to be well made. Coming from a background in theatrical production, I began to love making wearables that are true show stoppers.

Additional policies and FAQs
FAQ

Q. I ordered an item to wear/have for an event. Will it get to me in time?
A. The turn around time for orders is listed in the shop header, shop policies and in the order confirmation email. If your event is outside that time frame (I would extend by a week to be safe) then you should be fine. It is best to send me a message before ordering to ask and/or let me know your need by date.

Q. My event falls short of the turn around time. What do I do?
Send me a message ASAP. Some orders will require a rush fee to meet nearby dates. If I am no longer accepting rush orders in time for your need by date or the date is to soon in coming for your item to be ready, I am sorry but I do not cancel orders outside the 24 hour grace period.

Q.I am purchasing my first flogger. What do I need to know?
A. Please see my flogger FAQ on my blog- http://firebirdleather.com/flogger-faq/

Q. Why is your turn around time so long? What is your turn around time?
A.My current turn around time is always listed in the shop announcement. It is also a soft turn around time, meaning that sometimes the turn around time can be a few days to a week longer than listed. If you need an item by a certain day please send me a message so I can note it in your order. I make all items in the order that they are placed. It doesn't actually take me a month to make any single item, there are just that many people ahead of you.

Q. Do you do rush orders?
A. Yes and Sometimes. If I have remaining openings for rush orders then I can accept rush orders for an added fee. My busiest months are July through October and it is not uncommon for all slots to fill up and lead to me turning away orders.

Q. Can I get an update or progress shot of my order?
A. No. If you send me a message asking this you will get a canned response with the turn around time. I understand that some makers do this, but I don't do progress shots on an item unless its something I would document for my blog, which are usually highly customized and unique orders. My reason for this is many orders are made in batches or within the span of a few hours. Slowing down to take photos and email them for every client is too time-consuming. If you place an order for a flogger and ask me two weeks in how it's going the answer is that I haven't started it yet. I will start it when it comes in the order queue and it will be finished within a day.

Q. Can I borrow an item for a photo shoot/ film project?
A. Most of the time my answer to this is no but you can see the criteria on my website here- http://firebirdleather.com/borrowing-and-renting-items-for-photo-shoots-and-film/

Q. I needed this item in time for this event, but didn't read the turn around time and didn't contact you in time to get a rush order. Why can't I cancel my order, it hasn't shipped so why is it a big deal?

A. I will not cancel orders after the 24 hour grace period because once your order is placed I allocate time for it in the shop which means I turn down work that I would have otherwise said yes to for that time. I order and set aside supplies and deactivate listings when needed. It's the equivalent of hiring someone to do a job, have them tell all other work that they are unavailable for that time, and then at the last minute telling them Nevermind, I don't need you anymore and you're not getting paid.
