Historically inspired
I have always been intrigued and interested in history and life stories. I think this personal nostalgia is evident in my work and the imagery I am drawn to. There is a vast story behind every photo and illustration we see!!
Even as a early teen i could be found trolling thrift stores and estate sales with a Pentax slung around my neck looking for inspiration. Resurrecting old imagery and redesigning for practical uses really floats my boat!
My name is Sandy and I am a wife and mom of two boys. My shop started out in 2008 as a source of sanity for me as a new and inexperienced mother and it has grown (as did my family!) and evolved over the years to be what it is today. I am proud to say that while I am the main hustle/ designer/ maker/ office admin/ HR (and all the other fun stuff of small entrepreneurial biz!) of Firefly Notes I also currently have a handful of wonderful women in my community who assist me with my wholesale line and without them I couldn't be where I am today!
I not only sell online with Etsy but I have a direct website (fireflynotesonline.com) and a direct wholesale website (contact me for details). I am in many a store from coast to coast in Canada and the USA and abroad. I also do the occasional market locally.
