I started fiveorsixgirls in 2006. I wanted to specialize in plus sizes in clothing that you couldn't find anywhere else.
I adore mixing prints and colors up, and different fabrics that supposedly don't "go together", like tweeds and sheers, or damask with paisley. It's more experimental. There is a lot of emphasis on sixties and seventies too. I think of my style in this shop as timeless cool.
I also love repurposed clothing, and make things out of other items like tablecloths, bedspreads, sari's, or other bits of clothing. Any fabric is fair game for me here. I love vintage fabric and trims and love to hand dye as well. So it is all those elements in this shop.
I work in our bedroom. My kitty Sookie helps a lot. I surround myself with lots of kooky art and stuff to inspire me, and i'm always searching for things that will be just as inspiring. I am also an analog photographer, so my eye is always looking.
In this shop, the clothes are ready-to-sell. I think it's important to be unique. I've been weirdly unique since i was 11, when i dressed in carnaby street attire, complete with my grandpa's shirt, tie, and jacket. I am perpetually excited! New adventures (and shots, and clothing combinations) are everywhere you look!
Hope you have fun looking around! xx
