fleurdelisquilts' Shop Announcement

Thank you for visiting Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories. I hope to have new items and some old favorites listed in the next few days. Please be patient with me as I rework the shop and list items. My shop has been in vacation mode since the death of my parents who passed away within a year of each other. I simply could not work full time, run an Etsy shop, and deal with my grief. Losing one parent is difficult: losing both was just too emotional for me and I needed time to accept their deaths. Let's not forget that I also happen to be a wife, mother and grandmother!

Through it all, I found comfort in the things that my mother and grandmother handed down to me through their love of fabric, design, and quilts. In trying to find my own place and stride, I've discovered modern quilts and renewed my love of vintage and traditional quilt designs and fabrics. Sewing and quilting have afforded me time to think, to pray and to grieve.

Thank you to the many cyber friends who have sent words of encouragement and prayer through my email and blog. Your inspiration and concern have encouraged me and helped me to find my way. Thank you.

Everyone needs a quilt! Sure you do, a soft, cozy quilt to snuggle under. To share with someone special. To toss on the ground for summer picnics and fireworks. To dress up a room. To cozy up a table. To make a place your own.

To love a quilt is to love fabric--cotton, silk, linen, wool, rayons! Every color of the rainbow, every texture, every sense working.

For me, fabric is just fun--designing patterns, playing with color and sewing beautiful, functional clothing and making quilts. Every item is designed and sewn by me--Mary Marcotte. Every item, unless custom made per your request, is ready for shipping from my smoke-free studio.

All fabric items are shipped in a new plastic bag to protect them from the elements. When possible, I use zip-top bags but for larger items, I use heavy plastic bags that are carefully taped closed. Then the items are put in envelopes or boxes for shipping. I try to save money and live green when possible, if you do not want your item shipped in recycled packaging, please let me know in note to seller.

I enjoy the challenges of custom orders. Please let me know if you'd like something in a different colorway, size, shape, fabric, whatever your needs!
