CARE OF A MIXED MEDIA PIECE

Display:
This sculpture should be displayed only with the cover on and only in indirect lighting. Exposure to sunlight and other strong direct light sources will damage some parts. This piece of art is intended for viewing only. It should never be touched except for careful dusting as needed. It is not a toy and it has no moving parts. It must be kept in an upright position.
Use the included clear bumpers on the bottom of the case as protective feet for displaying it on a horizontal surface, or on the lower back for wall display. They won't be readily visible if they are applied a small distance in from the corners. The bumpers are not removable once they have been applied.

Storing:
This sculpture must be stored in an upright position! It should never be placed in any other position for longer than the time needed to remove or replace the cover. Although all parts are firmly attached, some are flexible and may sag out of place if the sculpture is left in the wrong position for any length of time.

Aging:
The appearance of this sculpture will change over time. Metal parts may develop a patina, cloth may fade or yellow, wood may darken, and paper change color. These and other changes are normal and should be expected. Eventually, it will take on the appearance of an antique, possibly before it actually becomes one.

Cleaning:
If the sculpture itself needs dusting, lay it on its back and remove the 3 screws holding the cover in place (two on bottom and one on top). Carefully remove the cover and use a soft artist's brush to collect dust from the surfaces. A small piece of clear tape may be used to lift dust from fabric--gently touch the sticky side of the tape to the dusty surface, but do not press! The dust should stick to it. NO cleaning solutions, sprays, waxes, or other products should be used.
Cleaning the cover:
Always use a soft cloth to prevent scratching.
clean with a special plastic cleaner or soap and water.
DO NOT use paper towels.
DO NOT use alcohol or ammonia-based cleaners.
