Floriography Tarot is an original and independently published flower and plant themed tarot deck inspired by the Victorian age custom of floriography, or the language of flowers.

I'm Ana, a Cuban-American artist and the creator of Floriography Tarot. Since I approached tarot from the perspective of an artist, I researched each card at length to match the universal meanings of the Rider Waite standard deck and created 78 collages over the course of 5 years.

I became fascinated with tarot symbolism after I made a few "woo woo" friends, who I am still close to, inspired me to do some light research on tarot cards. 

I decided to make this into an art piece, but I only had a concept: The Fool card and the closed rosebud—and so Floriography Tarot was born.

I began this project the year after I graduated from college at the University of Florida and I worked on it on and off for 5 years. Each of these collages were therapeutic for me to create during difficult times in my young adulthood. 

Before I knew it, I was designing packaging and opening an Etsy shop on the off-chance that maybe 3 tarot readers in the world would resonate with my art and my interpretation of these tarot cards.

Now, hundreds of people around the world are using Floriography Tarot cards as a tool to gain insight, challenge their worldview, and apply archetypes and metaphors to their lives. Just know that these cards CAN and WILL call you out!

What started as a pretty ambitious art project has evolved into a real, tangible product and I am honored to share it with you all.
