Illustrations that escape the page, landing on pillowcases, cushions and other soft places.

Hi, my name is Sarah, BUT... at the tender age of 9, a wild Scottish woman (a friend of my parents'), convinced me without a hint of a doubt that my "real" name was Alice Flossy Pumpernickel! Gullible? Sure! Nevertheless, flossy-p was born from that experience.

My nickname acted as a timestamp, capturing the childlike qualities of that time in our lives when reality and imagination blend together, a time when you're aware of style but not limited by it, a time before self-criticism, and when joy, adventure and nurture are utmost. These qualities, often subconsciously, find their way into my illustrations.

A while back I moved from an inner city terrace to a small regional town up the coast of Northern NSW in Australia. Our house backs onto a meandering creek in a bushy koala reserve, sits at the foot of some dramatic hills, and is soothed by a beachy breeze.

Since this sea-change my art almost always features nature of some sort. I create pencil drawings and watercolour paintings, often featuring native Australian flowers, plants and animals, and the communion between people and nature.

When I came close to running out of wall space myself, I started looking for other places for images to live. Soon my art moved onto cards, pillowcases, softies, and cushions. These are the items you can find in my Etsy store.

Since having my son a few years ago, and my daughter only months ago, I have enlisted the help of some very fine ladies. I work at home (when my children are asleep, that is) as an illustration artist. I am represented by two greeting card publishers, and have twice had my work published in "Curvy" a collection of top female illustrators from around the world. But the projects I enjoy the most are the personal family commissions people ask me to create especially for them.

If you are new to Etsy or having trouble with the ordering/payment process, please read this helpful article: http://www.etsy.com/help/article/339
Shipping costs are calculated automatically. If you buy two or more items, these additional shipping costs are also calculated automatically. Sometimes the shipping can be combined, but often it will be more (as I need to pay more when extra weight is added).

Postage to Australia is generally 3-7 days. Postage to other countries is generally 2 to 3 weeks (although in the lead up to Christmas it is considerably longer, and larger parcels can also take a bit longer too). Please note that it is the customer's responsibility to provide the correct mailing address. I use the address that appears on your Etsy profile, not your PayPal account.

I try to charge as little as I can for postage, but I do make sure it's always airmail. Insurance can be expensive, but if you would feel more secure with insurance, or if you need express post, please feel free to ask and I'll let you know how much extra it will be.

Please note I am only able to get to the post office twice a week. All of my items state they will be ready to ship in 3-5 business days, shipping time is added to that.

I have no control (and little knowledge) of the customs taxes or VAT charges that parcels incur when they enter your country. If you think these fees may apply to you, please check with your post office prior to ordering. If you intend to ship a gift directly to a recipient who lives overseas (i.e. not in Australia), be aware that they may need to pay these charges upon collecting their parcel.

I am required to fill out a customs declaration slip, and stick it to the front of international parcels. On this slip I have to declare the contents, and the value in $AUD. I am also required check the "merchandise" box, I am not able to check the "gift" box, as I am well known to the post office staff, and would face hefty fines.

Shipping at Christmas time takes much longer. I will announce postage cut off dates closer to Christmas.
Refunds and Exchanges
I'm willing to refund your payment if you are unhappy with a purchased item within 2 weeks of you receiving your parcel. I'll refund the paid amount upon receiving the item back in its original condition. You will need to pay for return shipping though.

In the rare instance that a package goes missing en route, please contact me, these things do happen occasionally. But please take into account normal delivery times, customs delays, and holiday congestion before contacting me about a missing parcel.
