Try Pressing Flowers!

The idea to press flowers literally popped into my head one day, along with a strong feeling that I needed to get going on this now! I had always grown flowers in gardens, but had never thought of pressing them until the sentence went through my head: you need to try pressing flowers!
It came out of the blue! What's increasingly interesting is that all of the answers on what to do and how to it just came to me as well!
I seemed to know exactly what to buy and exactly what to do when I started pressing flowers and creating art on Basswood; I've now expanded to create flower art on other mediums like glass, stone, and canvas.

I'd love to do this full time, but I'm not quite there yet! Aside from pressing flowers, I am a writer, published author, and voice over actor. I work with off - track race horses at a non - profit organization dedicated to helping to find homes for ex - performance horses who are no longer needed or wanted, and providing rehabilitation (first) for those who have been injured.

ANNOUNCEMENT: ALL JEWELRY is going on CLEARANCE! I'm in the process of redoing my designs and sections, and all of the current jewelry I am moving over to the CLEARANCE & SALE section!
Welcome to my shop! Flower Felicity is a place where I can combine my passion for flowers and jewelry all in one shop. They may seem like two totally different forms of art, and they are, but I enjoy each equally and I make all of the items by hand--myself! I have always wanted to paint, but I can't draw or paint anything respectable! It literally hit me one day to press flowers and use them to create pieces of art of a unique medium--Basswood, which I love because it is silky smooth and very soft. I had wanted a rustic medium like this before I even started making pressed flower art. It didn't take me long to realize that being able to work with such beautiful colors and arrange them on a blank canvas had become a way for me to paint. I am still working with colors, and arranging them as I see fit. Flowers and beautiful grasses have fulfilled my dreams of being able to paint!
The beautiful and striking semi-precious stones, glass, and crystal beads that I use for my jewelry satisfy me in the same way--only with jewelry, I am able to create what I believe are elegant pieces of art that people can wear. I love the different textures, shapes and sizes of the stones, and the way Swarovski crystals refract light from all different directions, making them look like colored Diamonds. I stand behind my work, and I offer free repairs on my jewelry if they are ever needed, no matter how the piece may have gotten damaged. There's nothing worse that having a favorite necklace or bracelet sitting around for years gathering dust because it's broken, and because you don't want to throw it away and yet don't know where to take it to be repaired!
No matter what you may be interested in, I want my customers to be satisfied with their purchases and enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them! So please let me know if I can work with you to create something custom, or if you have any general questions or concerns!

Returns and exchange details
My policy is no returns or exchanges as a general rule or standard practice. However, I won't leave a buyer with a piece that has been broken or damaged during shipping. I will make sure that an item that can be repaired will be repaired (generally this refers to jewelry), and if you've received an item that has been broken beyond repair, I will either create another for you or offer an exchange (generally this applies to any piece of flower art that may have been destroyed); photos showing any damage are required. This is RARE, just fyi, but I want the rule in place! So, really, any requests are handled on a case by case basis.

My jewelry has a lifetime guarantee, meaning if any piece breaks at any time, and for any reason, I will repair it for no charge! After the initial shipment following purchase, IF repairs were requested, sender would pay shipping to me, and I would pay shipping back to the sender (split).
I go through ETSY for payments because it offers the most payment options!
I CAN accept payments through the mail, but I REQUIRE certified mail with a signature requirement. This protect both of us -- a sender can PROVE they sent it, and I can PROVE I received it.
I have no problem with a buyer requesting to cancel a transaction for whatever reason(before the item is shipped). I completely understand things come up, situations change, and I harbor no hard feelings if someone needs to cancel! :) If a buyer needs additional time to pay, that is no problem as well! Just send me a note to let me know. I understand, again, that things happen and sometimes we need a little more time.
Your item will be mailed within three to five business days, or sooner depending on the item. Due to the demand in particular for bookmarks and the fact they are made to order, those are typically shipped FIVE days after they are ordered (I will certainly mail sooner if I am able, of course)!

The standard shipping method is Priority Mail via the USPS to ensure faster delivery and more delicate handling. Please message me before payment if you are interested in insurance (more than the standard $100 included with Priority), or expedited delivery.

Delivery confirmation is standard on all shipments, as well as a tracking number which you can use to track your item and be notified of its delivery.

Please do let me know if there is any damage to your pressed flower art, or any other item, (via ETSY message with photos showing the damage) when it arrives.
I don't want anyone to be stuck with a damaged piece. I will either fix it or create another item for you if possible ! This is extremely rare, but I want to make sure my buyers know (just in case) that I won't "wash my hands" of any items damaged during shipping!
Additional policies and FAQs
My pressed flower art pieces (including pressed flower art birdhouses) are for INDOOR display only! Despite the fact that they are coated in protective sealant, they will likely NOT hold up to outdoor conditions such as wind, rain, heat, cold, and direct sunlight beating down on them day after day.

In order to keep your pressed flower art looking vibrant indefinitely, make sure to hang or display the piece indoors, and out of direct sunlight -- or a spot where it will have sun beating in on it through a window for most of the day, every day.

I can't guarantee a pressed flower art piece will remain vibrant and colorful if it is exposed (again) to DIRECT sunlight. But I can tell you that if you display these pieces on walls or shelving OUT of direct sunlight, they will hold their colors indefinitely!

I have friends and family who bought some of the very first pieces I created when I opened my store back in October, 2012. Thanks to this "inside access," I can follow how well my flowers are holding their colors, as well as remaining durable!
