I can personalize a piece of unique, pressed flower art just for you! I can burn dedications into the back, as well as dates, names, titles, "Colorado," sayings, business names--anything you'd like really! If you're interested in having a piece made out of your wedding flowers, I can give you instructions on how to press the flowers. All you have to do then is ship them to me, and I'll create a tangible wedding memory you can cherish and display in your home! You can further customize by choosing the medium for the pressed flowers: Basswood ovals, Basswood rectangles, wooden plaques, canvas, framed art board, old eastern Colorado fencing or barn wood. You can also request specific flowers and colors, and I will try my best to accommodate based on availability, and feasibility.

It doesn't stop there! I can create a piece of custom jewelry for you without customization fees. I can design something using Swarovski crystal, Czech glass, most any semi-precious stone, Silver & Gold plating, solid Sterling Silver, solid Fine Silver, Gold-filled, Silver-filled, as well as Vermeil, Copper, and Brass. Let me know your thoughts and we can work together from start to finish to turn your mental blueprints into tangible accessories to complete your look! Message me now!

Beautiful! Exactly as I expected they would be. It would be nice to have a little filler in with the flowers to fill the space in a natural way, but I love them!

About

"Do What You Love and the Money Will Follow!"

"Do What You Love and the Money Will Follow." That old adage is my mission statement. I have a very interesting story, which you will be able to read about one day in a book I am writing on the topic, about how the idea to press flowers came into my world. I'll just say that the idea, which wasn't my own or anything I had ever thought of, popped into my head one day, along with a strong feeling that I needed to get going on this now! I seemed to know exactly what to buy and exactly what to do when I started pressing flowers and creating art on Basswood--which I knew from day one was going to be my medium of choice. Ironically, after getting the art form underway and setting up this ETSY shop, I was laid off from my job as a television reporter, ending my 17 year run in the business. I have the book, Do What You Love and the Money Will Follow, amongst hundreds of other books. Yet, this one strangely rose to the surface of a pile in my living room after losing my job, encouraging me that I was on the right track. I am currently trying to make a living with my art, even though it is a bit of a struggle. But different things or signs seem to keep popping up, telling me that I am on the right track! So, the story I am telling you today doesn't yet have an ending. You'll have to wait for the book to come out to hear the ending to this ongoing and ever-evolving transition.

Welcome to my shop! Flower Felicity is a place where I can combine my passion for flowers and jewelry all in one shop. They may seem like two totally different forms of art, and they are, but I enjoy each equally and I make all of the items by hand--myself! I have always wanted to paint, but I can't draw or paint anything respectable! It literally hit me one day to press flowers and use them to create pieces of art of a unique medium--Basswood, which I love because it is silky smooth and very soft. I had wanted a rustic medium like this before I even started making pressed flower art. It didn't take me long to realize that being able to work with such beautiful colors and arrange them on a blank canvas had become a way for me to paint. I am still working with colors, and arranging them as I see fit. Flowers and beautiful grasses have fulfilled my dreams of being able to paint!
The beautiful and striking semi-precious stones, glass, and crystal beads that I use for my jewelry satisfy me in the same way--only with jewelry, I am able to create what I believe are elegant pieces of art that people can wear. I love the different textures, shapes and sizes of the stones, and the way Swarovski crystals refract light from all different directions, making them look like colored Diamonds. I stand behind my work, and I offer free repairs on my jewelry if they are ever needed, no matter how the piece may have gotten damaged. There's nothing worse that having a favorite necklace or bracelet sitting around for years gathering dust because it's broken, and because you don't want to throw it away and yet don't know where to take it to be repaired!
No matter what you may be interested in, I want my customers to be satisfied with their purchases and enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them! So please let me know if I can work with you to create something custom, or if you have any general questions or concerns!

Additional policies and FAQs
In order to keep your pressed flower art looking vibrant indefinitely, make sure to hang or display the piece indoors, and preferably out of direct light. Each piece does have layers of protectant on it, but no matter how much I put on, a piece that sits in direct, beating sunlight day after day after day will fade. On a wall in your home, out of direct sunlight, it will last! You can also refresh the coating and shine on your piece at any time by buying an aerosol can of high gloss acrylic. You can usually find this at a hobby store, or even at Home Depot or Lowe's. It must be aerosol. Hold the can about six inches from the piece and lightly spray on the coating. I refresh pieces I have at home all the time. The wonderful thing about the aerosol acrylic is that the coats do not build upon one another and get gummy. If you have a piece of art of old fencing or barn wood, you can refresh the sheen by buying an aerosol polyurethane spray and doing the same thing. Again, polyurethane does not protect the piece enough to hang it outdoors in the sun and elements. The flowers will lose their colors.
You can dust a piece by using canned air--the same type of air duster you would use for a computer keyboard.
