A Step In The Right Direction

When I was pregnant with my first child, I remember randomly coming across a sewing pattern for baby shoes. I was amazed at the idea! I didn't even own a sewing machine, but the pattern bragged that you could even sew these by hand. I gave it a try. The pattern suggested using scrap fabric and something soft for the soles. Wanting the best and softest for my unborn child's little feet, I hacked up the padding from an old bra to use as a soft sole! I went to work with my needle and thread... needless to say, the results were hilariously bad. I stashed them away and forgot about the whole ordeal.

Fast forward to a few years later... I really started to get the itch to sew for my daughter. I bought a sewing machine. I made a nursing cover and car seat cover. Both turned out great and boosted my confidence in my sewing skills. I found a love for creating all sorts of things for my little one. Then once again, after having forgotten the handmade shoes from years earlier, I came across a pattern for baby shoes. It was meant to be this time around. I poured all of my creativity into making beautiful handmade shoes and boots. Over the past few years, I have sold them in various shops and websites around Canada and the USA and now I'm bringing them to Etsy.

Additional policies and FAQs
It is VERY important that you measure your child's foot to ensure you get the right size. The best way to do that is to put your child's foot down on a piece of paper and make a mark at the toe and at the heel. Measure the distance between the two and then determine the appropriate size. Also important to note- due to the fact that these shoes are hand cut and machine sewn, the size of the finished product may vary from the chart by 1/8" to 1/4". When in doubt, your best bet is to go a size up.

Shoes are not sized exactly like manufactured, store bought shoes, so it is important to measure feet before purchasing. Please refer to size information in listing, as sizing will vary between style of shoe/boot.

Children should be supervised when wearing these shoes in case embellishments come loose.
