About

My Pottery Story

I took my first pottery class in 2005 right after moving to Greensboro, NC. I had been waiting most of my life to play with clay and it was love at first throw.

Working with clay has taught me many lessons that relate to life outside of the studio. As I wait for the clay to dry enough for the next step I learn patience. When I decorate the pottery I take a chance and try something new. In the end I learn to keep an open mind: If the pot doesn't come out the way I expected, I might still like the result.

There is a part of the maker in every pot. I hope the joy and gratitude I feel is passed on thru my pottery and inspires you to connect with your creativity too.

Welcome to Flying Pig Pottery! I named my studio Flying Pig Pottery because it alludes to the fact that anything is possible, and amazing opportunities are everywhere. Of course pigs can fly!

To return to my store http://www.etsy.com/shop/flyingpignc

All of my glazes are lead free; my pottery is oven and microwave safe unless noted. Warm your baking dish up slowly by starting in a cold oven so that the dish warms up slowly.

Treat your pottery with loving care, cleaning in the dishwasher is okay for most pieces. Using the microwave is okay to re-heat your drink but please dont try to boil water in your handmade pottery.
