I started toying with wire and gemstones in 2007 as a creative outlet from my day job working in banking (specifically the tedious focus of regulatory compliance). Slowly but steadily my hobby took over my life. I left my career in banking in 2008 in favor of growing my handmade business and life has never been better.

My last name is Italian for "by hand" and comes from a long-line of makers. Both of my grandfathers worked with their hands, one professionally as a carpenter and the other as a hobbyist lapidary, aka gem-cutter. The latter instilled in me a fascination with gems from a very early age. My father owned and operated his own motorcycle repair shop for 40 years and my mother has always crafted everything possible including clothing, jewelry, truffles, soap, preserves...the list goes on.

Handmade is not as much "important" to me as it is an essential way of life. I draw much inspiration for my jewelry from the seaside. The colors, shapes, textures, and ethereal sense of light, airy playfulness are the main focus of my design. I’m very proud of the fact that as I continue to grow and develop as an artist with Foamy Wader, I have kept the focus, all design, and fabrication in-house, handmade by me. Alla-mano.

I currently run all aspects of Foamy Wader here on Etsy and travel the world selling at pop-up markets and craft fairs such as Renegade Craft Fair, Bazaar Bizarre, Urban Craft Uprising, and more. My jewelry can also be found in boutiques across North America.
