This art form goes by many names—folded book art, book sculptures, custom books—and is the product of meticulously folding the pages of a book to create a given design.

No. Many people ask how I cut the pages of the books to give it such a distinct shape, but actually I don’t cut them at all. Each page is folded at a different point along the outermost edge, and can even be unfolded again to read! Occasionally a book does have a rather bold picture in it though, and that page may be removed to maintain the uniformity of the book.

The majority of the books that I use are from used book stores, thrift stores, donation centers, and online retailers. They are used books that are given new life! The books are carefully chosen to make sure they are up to my standards- so they don't have stains, smell like cigarettes or have obtrusive titles.

While I do my best to select appropriate books for each piece, I understand that some people want to have a bit more control over the book used. If you'd like me to fold a specific book, you may have it shipped to me.

Before sending me any books, please contact me prior to your order to let me know what book you are looking to use, including the dimensions, number of pages and what you would like folded into it. I will get back to you to let you know if the book will work. Please keep in mind that the longer or larger you want your name, date or image, the more pages the book will need.

Folding books can be a very time-intensive process. The process begins with shopping for the perfect books, and then researching the best designs to place in each book. I then create a pattern for each book, and then can finally start the folding process. When I first began folding, it took me weeks to finish a book! With lots of practice and improved technique, I have gotten that time down by quite a bit. The number of hours that go into each book varies on the size of the piece. I typically take between one and eight hours per piece for the folding portion alone.

Yes! You can have your gift shipped directly to your giftee. Just be sure to fill out their information as the shipping address during checkout. You may also include a gift message in the "note to seller" section. I will gladly gift-wrap the book for you as well. :)

Yes. I post my current turn-around in my shop announcement. If you need your book finished sooner, there is a "Rush" listing you can add to your order to bump your book ahead of the line. The book will be finished within 1-2 days of payment. The book will be sent using the shipping option YOU choose! Shipping upgrades are available and are recommended for even faster delivery.

Please note that I can only offer rush services once a week in order to maintain the quality service I provide to my other customers. I will remove the listing if rush service is not available at the time.
