OUR MANTRA
OK. where to start. I create wearable art and I hope you find a store that is anything but ordinary.
And oh yes - I'm really serious about socks! Your feet are individuals. Treat them that way. Would they be called left and right if they were the same? Let’s OCCUPY the streets in real knitted socks, in handmade stockings. GO ON! Show some sole. Be authentic. Stand up on your own two feet. Feel it in your toes. Let’s start the SOXUAL REVOLUTION!

OUR MATERIALS
All my socks are hand cranked on my antique sock machine. I use only the best fibres to wrap your tootsies in - nothing bog standard here. Merino wool and cashmere are my favourite. Occasionally I am seduced by silk and cotton and other types. To find unique fibres and sock yarns, I creatively source a lot of my yarns from unusual or once-off sources.

I follow vintage patterns, often I give them my own twist. I'm always trying out something new. Keep your eyes peeled for new creations from my knitting and design studio.

As there are vegans among us and those that would just like a sock that is easier to care for, I now also offer manmade fibres - acrylic, poly-amide and nylon. (Keep in mind that these fibres have quite different properties to natural fibres - so let's not get me started.)

OUR SIZES
Now, I know that choosing socks is not easy - there are size and colour and fibre considerations. Experience has taught me that SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE AND WHOPPER are usually the best course of action!

If you do not find the size that you want - please do contact me. Get your people to talk to my people. C'mon let's make a plan ... or at the very least a pattern!

GIFTS
Artisanal hosiery. Best gift ever. We are totally biased, but what could be better than a handmade pair of socks ... ok perhaps knitting them yourself! Seriously though, our socks and stockings make great presents for both the men and women in your life. If you would like to send some as a gift, do let us know. We love gifts.

OUR MISSION
Please visit our Pinterest and Instagram feeds where we share some of our sock and style musings.

Back in the day socks and jumpers where made to last. We strive for that: repair, reuse, recycle. We can vouch for the longevity of our socks. (ok you don't want to know ;-0 )

Also, being authentic and comfortable - anything less should be a crime, right?

PS. We are very nice - or so we hear - so feel free to ask if you feel that your feet are tripping you up! We love hearing from other sock lovers.

YOUR STYLE
Show us how you rock your FootFetish socks. Upload photos of your individual style and how you like to wear and style our socks to Instagram with the hashtag #rockmyffsocks - if you dare!

About

Ode to my socks.

I have been knitting for as long as I can remember. I love yarns. And I confess that I find knitting very therapeutic.

Hello and welcome!
I hope that you will have a positive experience buying and using - hopefully loving - my socks and stuff!

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Other Method
Payment
I accept paypal, direct check out and bank transfer. I welcome custom orders, but will only send the article after payment has gone though.
Shipping
I try and ship as soon as possible - mostly because I am so excited that I got a sale that I would like you to have your goodies 'at once'! I wish I could just beam your socks to you, but the arrival of your parcel depends on the service I you choose.

Within the UK shipping is first class. Further afield I ship standard airmail.

If you want your parcel tracked, please add this link to your cart. Tracking is not any faster than standard airmail, though, and is a lot more pricey. I only lose one parcel out of 350 - so I have faith, but you might know your shipping situation better. I do not profit from the postage and the rate is generally a few quid lower than the actual cost of postage.

Mail within the UK is usually next-day delivery and to the US and Canada it takes an average of five to 14 days, but occasionally longer.

During Christmas, all bets are off! During that time I recommend that parcels are tracked as I cannot take responsibility for regular mail that gets lots. If the wheels come off - this is the time!

Custom-made orders take one to three weeks plus the delivery. I will let you know as part of the ordering process.

I send a shipping notice with every finished item so that you know when to start looking out for it. This shipping notice also contains washing instructions - please read that as I have strict return policies regarding this.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are not happy with your purchase please contact me ... My aim is to have happy customers and I would hate to think that you are 'hating' the experience.

Every item is carefully checked for flaws or dropped stitches, but sometimes one gets away. Please contact me if you have ANY problems and I will repair/replace the socks.

The socks are all hand cranked on an antique machine and it takes between 3 and four hours to complete a pair. As a craft's person I only work with highest quality yarns, which does influence my prices.

WASHING
I will just add in here that most of the damage done is in washing especially - the wool fibres are notorious. I do warn that they are tricky and as far as possible have tested the yarns, but if it shrinks in the wash - and the dreaded tumble dryer - I cannot be held responsible. MY RULE OF THUMB IS ALWAYS COLD HAND WASH AND DO NOT TUMBLE DRY! A COOL/COLD MACHINE WASH ON A WOOL/DELICATE CYCLE SHOULD ALSO BE OK.

CUSTOM ORDERS
I charge £30 and the cost of the yarn for custommade socks. (on average that works out to between £40 - £60 ). I take the time to make sure that I understand what you would like and we might even exchange a few photographs. For this reason I will only refund the cost of the yarn if you are not happy. Custom orders could also take longer than two weeks as sometimes I have to wait for yarns, etc.

SIZING GUIDE
Sizing is always a bit of a issue and then I would also make it easy to find the right size right away.... SOO....

I have listed the socks in foot sized rather than types of socks. Feel free to contact me if you see a pair that is not in your size, I will be happy to see if I can make one for you. Please just keep in mind that often the socks are OAAK and you might get a similar but never the same socks - hell, it is difficult enough to make a matching pair!

Here is how the sizing works: Measure form your inside elbow to the fold of your wrist. The rule is that this is the length of your foot.... then look in the shop section that is right for you. I will also list the shoe sizes to make sure that you feel comfortable with the sizes. Remember that a sock that is too small will slide forward and a large sock will bunch up and move around. Other than factory socks, hand knitted socks should fit snug but not with a stretch - so DON'T be tempted to choose a smaller sized sock.

Also - very important - is to remember that there is no elastic in the socks (unless I point out that Lycra was used) It makes them ideal for people that suffer of poor circulation, diabetes and swollen ankles/legs. They are ideal for boots, clogs, or slipper-socks to slouch in.

here is a link to a size guide that is very reliable:
