About

It's a great big beautiful world!

I believe we're designed to be outside, and I am always seeking to find a better Earth-life balance. I draw and screenprint nature-inspired designs onto tshirts as a reminder to step outside, and I'm branching into the world of functional, sustainable apparel with new products like a bicycle-friendly wrap skirt for women (link at bottom) that embody beauty, efficiency, adventure, and conscious living..

I began screen-printing designs from my original paintings for friends and family four years ago when I moved onto an old sailboat (my floating home for 3.5 years). Living and traveling on a sailboat was a life-changing experience that connected me to plants, animals, and natural elements. Over the course of my travels, I sold my original tshirts to new friends and fellow sailors along the way, and decided to expand them into a line of designs inspired by my travels. With new inspiration, I sailed home to the Southeast where I spent the last of my savings on basic printing equipment, set up a print studio, and launched Forest and Fin.

Forest represents plants and fin represents animals; forest symbolizes land and fin signifies the sea: this is where I draw my inspiration from. I create sustainable, functional, and responsible designs using eco-friendly materials and ethical production. I print on cotton or biodegradable materials using Eco-friendly water-based inks and use recycled packaging and labels. Each design is hand-drawn, hand-printed, and part of a quest to spend more time outside.

There is nothing I love more than going on "research" trips to gather reference photos and inspiration for my designs (aka walking, sailing, kayaking, or hiking in beautiful natural environments) or spending a day with my sketchbook or an easel.

The Bicycle Wrap Skirt has hidden fasteners to prevent fly-up, pockets to secure valuables, and removable straps to keep your hem away from bike tires.
