I was SO pleased with this entire process. Mandy makes gorgeous products and is a pleasure to work with. I told her I needed a rush order on a hat for an event on a specific date, and she worked quickly and diligently to ensure the hat was custom-made and shipped from Singapore to me in NYC with two days to spare. It arrived, well protected with padding in the box, and was just as beautiful as in the photos. I am delighted. Keep up the great work, Mandy!

My hat is even better than I imagined. Can't wait to wear it out! Thank you for the little note of wearing instructions, too -- quite helpful.

Beautiful Hats Beautiful Women

In 1998, while living in Perth, I attended races at Ascot, Australia. The fashion parade where tall beautiful women wore huge flamboyant headpieces on their head captivated me. I was intrigued by those beautiful hats and told myself that I would wear one the next year. This was how I started my love for hats. I started to buy ready-made hats and added my own trimmings to Races inAustralia.

By 2009, I took the plunge and spent 2 weeks in London learning traditional millinery skills from Mrs Rose Cory. I made small hats like pillbox and perchers and sales was so good that I often had to reject custom order due to my lack of time. In 2011, I visited London again and this time was to learn how to make hats with brims from Mrs Cory again. In June 2013, I flew to London and Ireland to do 1-to-1 classes with Brigitte Bailey and Lina Stein, well-known for their techniques.

I used to teach Fashion & Fabrics (as an 'O' Level subject) between 1986-1993 but the subject was scrapped and currently I teach Food & Consumer Studies in a secondary school. I am also trained in Jewelry Design and Fabrications at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts but as time is so limited and with my full-time teaching job, I could not make any jewelry but instead focus on hat-making only.
