About

Vintage Treasure Hunting on the East Coast

I've always loved old things. I grew up in a house full of them, thanks to a mother with a passion for antiques and junk shops. She taught me to see the beauty and value of these objects, and along the way I've developed my own unique aesthetic. My shop is a place for me to display and share the objects I've found, to highlight their beauty, and to put into practice my belief that there's great value in using and appreciating what the past has already made available to us.

I started this business in 2013 while living in Boston, MA in the beautiful neighborhood of Jamaica Plain (and I named my shop after the Forest Hills subway station I passed through daily). Not long after, I relocated to Raleigh, NC, and spent many sunny weekend mornings at the Raleigh Flea Market hunting for treasures. I had wonderful luck in both cities with my thrifting endeavors, but I've recently moved back to my home state of New Jersey and I'm excited to see what treasures I can find here in the mid-Atlantic. The thrill of the hunt is one of the most exciting parts of the experience, and my Etsy shop has enabled me to transform my hunting from a hobby to a business that has traveled up and down the east coast and has grown with me over the past several years. I couldn't be happier, and I hope you'll enjoy the fruits of my labor as well!

Shipping
GENERAL SHIPPING POLICIES:

My shipping quotes are estimates. If the estimated shipping cost is 2 dollars or more over the actual cost, I will happily refund you the overage.

If you need an item quickly, please message me prior to placing your order and I will let you know whether it is possible and how much additional shipping will cost, if applicable.

Please make sure your shipping address is correct and up-to-date before placing your order. I will ship to the address you provide to me and cannot be held responsible for incorrect or outdated addresses. Packages that are undeliverable as addressed will be refunded minus the cost of shipping, only once they are returned to me by the post office.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:

I am happy to ship internationally and have included a rough estimate of shipping costs on each listing. However, these are only estimates and the actual cost may be less. I will happily refund shipping overages of 2 dollars or more.

Please note it is common for international shipping to take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks depending on the destination, weather, customs holds, and the method of shipping used.

Depending on customs rules and regulations, I may not be able to ship to your country. Some countries, such as Brazil, prohibit the importation of "used consumer goods" such as vintage items. Others may prohibit certain items that I sell; for example, Australia prohibits the importation of glazed ceramics. Please check your country's customs laws before purchasing.

The buyer is responsible for paying any and all taxes and fees levied by customs. These are not included in the cost of shipping and must be paid by the importer (the person who has purchased the item).

I will declare the actual value (purchase price) of the item on the customs form. I will not honor requests to mark any package as a gift. This is illegal and is considered tax evasion.

Thank you!
Refunds and Exchanges
Please read the listing carefully and examine all photographs before purchasing. Dimensions and condition are always noted in the listing. If you'd like to see more photos, just send me a message! I'm very happy to answer any questions you may have as well. Sales are final unless the item has been grossly misrepresented (or damaged in shipping, see below). The cost of return shipping is the buyer's responsibility.

I do everything I can to ensure that your item will arrive safely to you. In the unlikely event that your item arrives damaged, please contact me within 7 days of delivery (sooner is always better!). In order to have your purchase refunded, I will require photographic proof of damage. Please do not throw away the packaging--and take photos! This will expedite the refund process.
Additional policies and FAQs
In an effort to be environmentally conscious, I reuse and recycle packing supplies whenever possible.
