Got this ones as they remember to me my journeys to HK and China. It could seem curious on Italian purchasing them from US, but reason is Debby's creations possess a timeless allure, buying from US was without any issues and packaging itself secures protection but is an elegant gift box same time. In a nutshell: nothing is left to chance. Thanks a lot Debby!

About

My Work Is My Passion And What I've Always Wanted To Do

I know how lucky I am because I'm one of those people who always knew what they wanted to do ' When I grow up ' .
Plain and simple, I always wanted to be an artist. And I was lucky enough to be able to take Saturday morning art lessons as a child at the Rhode Island School of Design which only fueled this desire.

A family friend who was an artist herself encouraged me as well but also told me never to just give my art away but to sell it . My art had value. What a powerful lesson.
Honore was also the impetus behind me marching into a jewelry shop in Provincetown, MA at the young age of 14 years old , bag of beaded earrings under my arm, and exiting soon after - proud as a peacock - with a check made out to me!
I had made my first sale and I was smitten.

I majored in Fine Arts in college and discovered the art of silk screen printing which tapped into my love of color and texture and confirmed what I had always known - my total inability to ever draw anything to save my life but my confidence and talent to combine nuances of color.

Upon graduation, I landed a job as an Exhibits Specialist at the Smithsonian's Arts and Industries museum and later became the Matter/Framer for the Print Dept. of the National Gallery of Art. Both very cool jobs but I wasn't my own boss and I wasn't able to be very creative.

My career as a jewelry designer evolved much later in my life when I married my husband Joel, a gemologist and mineralogist who taught me that to really feel fulfilled, you need to follow your dreams.
If you're a creative person you must be creative.
My dream of being an artist became a reality when I began designing hand knotted beaded necklaces, earrings and bracelets for friends in the early 1980s.

Encouragement is a priceless gift and because of Joel's support and my tenacity to never give up, I later approached buyers for various museum shops as well as high end department stores.. My jewelry was sold under the name "Beadles" during the mid 1980's in museum shops and mail order catalogs such as the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History, the Chicago Art Museum, Sackler Gallery and upscale stores such as Bloomingdales and Saks Fifth Avenue.
This led to numerous buying trips to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Europe, Africa and even Pakistan - always searching for unusual beads which I could use in my design work.

Many of these vintage beads are found in the jewelry that I sell in this shop.

I always used to wonder how people who worked for themselves could stay focused and know what to do every day. I had only ever worked for someone else. But I soon found out that if you truly LOVE what you're doing, there's no question as to what to do each day - if anything, there aren't enough hours in any day to do it all !

And now with the internet, I find this lack of enough time in each day is even more the case. I work every day but don't consider it work.

How can your passion be considered a job ?!

When people ask me how long I've been a jewelry designer I often have to pause because my initial response is around 33 years. But truth be told, I sold my first pieces of jewelry at the ripe old age of 14 while vacationing in Provincetown, MA.

I value each and every customer and I'm delighted that you have chosen to shop in my store ! Almost all of the vintage beads that I have incorporated into my designs have a story behind them which I will gladly share with you.

★ My jewelry is made in most cases with vintage beads which cannot be replaced.
The quality and uniqueness of my items does not allow for negotiation on prices. While I may offer special promotional sales from time to time (such as free shipping on U.S. orders only ) at my discretion, my prices are final as listed.

Payment
★ If you're new to Etsy, here's a guide to the CHECKOUT PROCESS : http://www.etsy.com/help_guide_checkout.php

I greatly appreciate immediate payment as I always strive to have a quick turn-around of no longer than 72 hours from date of purchase, and I want to ship as soon as I can so that I don't fall behind in my orders. If there are ever extenuating circumstances where I will not be able to ship within 72 hours I will have a notice up in my shop to that effect or will contact you personally.

If I do not receive payment within 72 hours, I will send you an email and convo inquiring what the status is of your order. I will send another email after another 48 hours and then, after that, I will re-list the item(s) in my shop, as many of my designs are one of a kind.

I currently accept PayPal, money orders and Direct Checkout. If PayPal notifies me that you have paid by e-check, I will ship your items when your check clears, which usually takes about 5 business days. .
Shipping
YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS:
I ship to the address provided in the Checkout "SHIP TO" transaction section.
Etsy generates the shipping label that you the customer provide to Etsy and this is what we use.

Please be sure the address is accurate as many times the address that may appear on your PayPal account is different than where you actually want the item to be shipped.

The Buyer will be billed for the additional shipping fees if the package is returned to me because of an incorrect shipping address.

I always try to ship within 72 hours of receiving payment.

*I can insure both DOMESTIC and INTERNATIONAL packages. I use USPS insurance and also third-party coverage, which allows me to mail items by First Class Mail and get insurance for full value.

USPS First Class Mail cannot be tracked once it leaves the USA, and items cannot be insured unless they are shipped via Priority or Express Mail (which is rather expensive). Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs.

Some countries are NOT COVERED by third-party insurance plans. I will let you know if this applies to an order you have placed in my shop, and work with you to ship as safely and cost-effectively as possible.
Priority Mail to Canada and Mexico starts at about $20 (small flat rate box) or $29 for a normal package, and to other countries it varies, so please contact me if you need a quote for this kind of shipping. Maximum insured value for a flat rate box is $400.

Priority mail within the USA is $5.50 FOR UP TO 1 lb. of merchandise. Priority mail over 1 pound varies in cost with destination up to about $12.00 for a 3-pound package to California, for example. Please email me if you require any of these options at debbyaremdesigns [!at] gmail.com
Refunds and Exchanges
Your satisfaction is extremely important to me. Everything in my shop is sold with a money-back guarantee.
Please feel free to email me at debbyaremdesigns [!at] gmail.com with questions or any problems.

If you're not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, please email me IMMEDIATELY and state what the problem is rather than leaving negative feedback. I am always willing to resolve any issues if an item is not what you expected.
I am always here and check my email many times a day. I want to make sure you are thrilled with your purchase from my shop and always look forward to the positive feedback that my customers leave me.

If I cannot resolve the problem to your satisfaction, I will refund your purchase cost if the product is returned to me in its ORIGINAL undamaged condition within 7 days after you have received it.
All returns are to be shipped at buyer's expense with tracking.
Please understand that you will only receive a refund for the cost of the item and this will happen only after the item has been received and inspected by me to make sure it has been returned in the same condition as when you purchased it.
Regrettably I cannot refund shipping costs.

➤ALL CUSTOM WORK IS A FINAL SALE AND NON-REFUNDABLE - THIS INCLUDES MODIFICATION OF ANY EXISTING PIECE OF JEWELRY OR FAN PULL

➤Please Note: We have had overseas packages take as long as 2 months on occasion to clear Customs. We can honestly say that we have never lost a package. Once the package leaves the US it is no longer able to be traced if sent by First Class Mail - therefore neither you nor I will have a way of knowing where it is! Priority and Express Mail can be tracked internationally, but the cost is rather high ($20-40).
Additional policies and FAQs
I may also have or be able to make an earring to complement any necklace that is in my shop so please don't hesitate to ask that as well. In most cases, I can also change the 'findings' on earrings if you prefer silver over gold ,brass or copper etc. so please don't hesitate to ask!
➤Although I only use vintage beads in my designs, I'm quite often able to make multiples of something such as earrings for bridesmaids so please don't hesitate to ask me.

How can I be sure your " antique" Chinese pendants aren't reproductions

Many people sell such shards as 'antiques' and not the reproductions that they truly are and that are currently being exported from China.

I have the documentation to prove that all the porcelain shard pendants that I use in my designs are genuine Qing Dynasty ( 1644- 1911) or Ming Dynasty ( 1368-1644 ) antiques. I purchased a few of these gorgeous porcelain shards during a buying trip to Hong Kong during the late 1970's.
◉ You will be provided with a color copy of this document with this necklace.◉
