About

Maker of fine quality 1/12th & 1/24th scale dolls house miniature food

My husband got me into this - it's all his fault! He runs (with me too) Forget-Me-Not Miniatures www.forgetmenotminiatures.co.uk and we have done so for over 20 years now. We make and supply 1/12th scale dolls house furniture and accessories that we retail online and we exhibit up and down the country. David make lots of top quality furniture, especially of the Tudor era but also Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian. I make accessories such as hand bags and curtains, but mostly miniature food items. The food became so popular that I thought I would open an Etsy shop especially for it - and so here I am!

It took quite some time to make the food items look like real food and I think the key is to really look at the real food item before you make it - if you can! It's a little difficult not to eat your Sunday roast and just sit there looking at it, but you know what I mean! I used to make apples and they were like real sized peas - I think I have come on a bit since then... 'Practice' is a word used often and 'oh dear' are two words that get used sometimes, but 'wow' is used more these days and 'I'm pleased with that' is much more frequent, so all is good :)

Two years ago I gave up my day job as the organisation I worked for was changing so much, and not for the better, and so I was able to concentrate more on miniatures. And after much consideration and deliberation, I decided to spread my wings even more by opening an Etsy Craft Shop. I make many kinds of things, this time in real size, for you, your friends & family and your home. I exhibit at fairs up and down the country with these items also and you can see my treasures at www.forgetmenotcrafts114.etsy.com I fancied doing something extra and as I obviously love working with my hands, why not use them even more?! I hope this business is as successful as my counter-parts and we thought that having the 'Forget-Me-Not' name in all would help our customers to remember who we are...forget-me-not? Get it? ;)

I continue to work hard daily, albeit for this business, my husbands business, or my Forget-Me-Not Crafts business and long may it continue. I hope you enjoy my products, appreciate them for what they are and buy lots! Thank you. Please tell your friends.

Payment
I appreciate it when customers pay right away once they have made their decision and in return, I know that customers appreciate receiving their items as soon as humanly possible! So, please pay asap and I can process your order right away. I will post off to you within 4 working days (usually 2!).

If you change your mind, don't worry, I will not bite (I may be a bit sad though...) I'll give you 4 days to change your mind, how's that? If you have paid and I have sent it off already, oh dear, but not to worry, just return it to me unopened and undamaged and once received, I will refund straight away. Sorry though, I can't repay the return postage costs...
Shipping
As mentioned, I will post within 4 working days once paid. I will send items via Royal Mail and they are usually Standard 2nd Class ost. If you would like something sending recorded delivery, please let me know and I'll add the difference in cost. All items are sent in boxes and jiffy bags and will be well protected - I really want you to receive them in perfect condition. One customer once said they received their item in 'bomb proof packaging'! It takes effort and love to make my items - I like them to be safe in transit! :) If you could send me a message when the parcel arrives, to confirm delivery, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

PLEASE NOTE: If, after posting your item to you, I see that you have overpaid the P&P costs, the difference will be refunded to you. Estimations have to be made on P&P costs when items are placed on Etsy as they are very different to all parts of the world and the amount/size of items can make packaging costs differ. I DO NOT profit from P&P fees and please also note the second 'P' (packaging) as this is included in what you pay - it's not just what you see on the stamp. Any questions - just ask. Thank you.
Refunds and Exchanges
You can return items if they are damaged or completely different to what you expected for a refund. If you just change your mind, I can refund, but I would be a little upset as I do get excited when someone wants to buy something I have made! So please, for my sake if nothing else, please choose wisely and know what you are getting before you commit. Thank you.

If an item doesn't arrive for whatever reason, please contact me after 15 working days (that's when the post office states a parcel is 'missing'.) I will then sort it one way or the other, either for a refund or for a credit note - or with a replacement if I have one. Please be honest though, I have come unstuck before and I am sure you appreciate, the profit margins are small already...
Additional policies and FAQs
I guarantee the items you receive are all my own original work and I am not using any work, ideas or products of another individual or organisation unless clearly stated in the item description. All my items are copyright, so please remember this if you intend to copy (although I would be flattered of course!) I do not supply wholesale or manufacture for any company at all, outside my own family's.
