About EmilyandEdenDesigns
Jewelry you never want to take off.
I have been creating art for as long as I can remember.
My first designs were dresses for my Barbie dolls made from socks, fabric scraps, and glitter glue.
As a young girl I was very insecure and spent much time worrying what my classmates thought of me. I was very different from the other girls. I was taller, and heavier, I developed early, had braces, and glasses. Being different I was teased, picked on, and bullied. In spite of this I was always the one to run to the aid of another person being bullied or picked on.
I am all grown up now, turning 39 this summer, and those memories still haunt me. I will never forget how alone I felt, how many times I thought there had to be a way out. It is this memory that is why we donate a portion of our sales to SAVE-suicide awareness voices of education. Being a mother I hope and pray that no woman ever feels the way I felt back then.
My husband tells me that jewelry designing is what feeds my very soul and I believe he is right. The hours do not count when I am creating. I think of the woman who will wear my pieces. How I hope that someday someone's daughter will treasure a piece because it reminds her of her mother.
My jewelry is a talisman of the beauty, strength, and power that you possess within yourself.
XO,
Shannon
