About

The world through a viewfinder

I opened up my Etsy shop in June of 2011. One way or the other I have been into photography now for over 25 years. I was introduced to photography early on in my life by my parents. At that time, it was a fantastic mystery spending time with my father in a homemade darkroom, smelling all the chemicals, seeing wet film gleaming in red light and images magically appearing in paper trays.

My true love for photography came with the purchase of my first Nikon SLR in the 80s. These days, I mainly use digital photo gear – plenty of bells and whistles, but the basics are still the same. Composition is still the key, doesn’t matter what format.

I love everything about photography – from the feeling of holding a camera in my hands, to looking through a viewfinder and seeing the world magically transforming into an abstract art. When I don’t have my camera with me, I often look at things as though I would be looking through a lens, making a mental note for the next potential photoshoot.

Spending time taking photos, especially if I am able to dedicate an entire day to the activity, is my way of relaxing and getting away from the daily hustle and bustle of things. Processing images is a special time as well – I almost always do it while enjoying my other pastime, music. Interestingly enough one often influences the other. Often the image dictates what type of music I listen to and vice versa. Naming my photographic works is a unique process – many things go into it, such as: the image mood, my emotional state, the track I am listening to, the book(s) I am reading or have read, conversations with my family, world events, etc. While the name of one image will come instantaneously, the other could take days to develop.

In the end, my goal is to open people’s eyes and minds through aesthetically pleasing art that lends itself to infinite interpretations.

Thank you for visiting and your interest,

- Vlad

Thank you for visiting my Etsy studio and your interest in my work. I am enjoying photography for more than 25 years. Through my images, I try to
project a unique view of everyday surroundings as I see abstract beauty in all
aspects of life. My works have been acquired throughout United States and
abroad by individuals seeking modern and contemporary art, as well as
displayed at several galleries (brick & mortar and on-line).

My style of photography is mostly in the Abstract and Minimalistic category,
although I do enjoy other types of photography as well. Most of my photography
is natural - I usually do not pre-stage nor digitally manipulate my objects. There
are times when I like to experiment with my images and on rare occasion will
create something that normally does not exist.

Most of my prints are Limited Edition - they are signed (on the back), numbered and include Authenticity Certificate. Editions for each image vary between 15 to 100. My Limited Editions are for ALL sizes and types - this means that only specifically stated number (based on Edition Series) of prints of each image will be produced, regardless of the size or substrate (fine art paper, canvas or acrylic).

PAPER PRINTS are available either on Fujicolor Crystal Archive or Kodak Endura photographic paper (which has been tested to last for 40 or more years by Wilhelm Research) or on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308 gsm (19 mil) - the paper
used depends on the size and image type. Please note that not all images are available in all listed print sizes (print size availability depends on image composition). Prints on Fujicolor Crystal or Kodak Endura Archive photographic paper are available in matte, lustre, glossy, pearl & metal finishes - the finish depends on the image composition.

The following print sizes are available (please note that these are approximate sizes and not all sizes are available for all images). All sizes are in inches:

8x8
8x10
8x12
9x12
10x10
10x12
10x15
11x14
12x18
16x20
16x24
18x24
20x30
24x36
30x40

CANVAS PRINTS, ACRYLIC/PERSPEX PRINTS & PRINTS ON METAL are also available. Please inquire via Contact on Etsy.
