Welcome to my humble little Etsy shop...

Hello! I’m so glad you stopped by!

My name is Jordan Kim and I’m a paper collage artist, a mama, and ecologist. My mission is to create art that inspires you to find and celebrate the ordinary {moments, people, objects, nature} that make your life extraordinary.

As long as I can remember, I have been completely in love with creativity and the natural world. I have been inspired and influenced by many amazing creatives in my life, but none more so than the work of Mother Nature. The amazing patterns, systems, creatures, designs of the natural world are unparalleled in my mind. Found & Rewound was born in 2003, out of that desire to combine these passions and share my beautiful messy creative journey with you through art. I create unique artwork that inspires us to look a little deeper - beyond what may seem ordinary and mundane - to what is really fascinating, beautiful and extraordinary.

My Art…
I make paper collages - but not the way most people think of a paper collage. People often describe my work as “painting with paper”. As the name Found & Rewound suggests, I like to use found objects (junk mail, magazines, packaging, etc.) and give them a new purpose in my artwork. My favorite subjects are simple moments and observations from my world - children, scenes from motherhood, gardening and the natural world. (You can watch a short video of my process over on my website at www.foundandrewound.com/technique.)

I absolutely LOVE the way collage lends itself to playing with layers of meaning and symbolism. I love tucking hidden messages into my work with the paper I use, the words on it, or even little found objects that I find and incorporate. These little “love notes” are another way I try to encourage slowing down, looking deeper and seeing beyond first impressions.

My Wish For You…
Like many artists, I create art with the messages that I need to hear most at that moment in time. For me, it’s often a reminder to slow down and notice all the amazing richness in my life right now. My art helps me reconnect to the rhythm of the natural world and stay grounded. I would love nothing more than to know that my art helped you feel more attuned to the abundance in your life too. My wish for you is a life filled with sweet simple moments, people you love and a connection to the natural world that supports us all. If a strategically placed, artful reminder imbued with love notes made just for you can help make that wish come true – my work here is done.

I'm an artist, a mama and a perpetual student of the school of life. Give me some glue or paint on my fingers, dirt under my nails and a little hand in mine and I'm in heaven - pure bliss! I've been creating paper collages for over 20 years.
