Betsy worked with me to recreate a charm for one that I bought and then subsequently lost a few years back. She did not have some of the materials on hand, and through resourcefulness found what we needed and voila! I have the perfect replacement. Thank you thank you!! So glad that you are back;)
Fate, kismet, or the legacy of the fairy godmothers
Way back in 2005 I had a fresh B.A. in Studio Arts, a lot of retail and restaurant experience, and all the time in the world on my hands.
To soothe my restless nature I kept doing what I'd been doing for the last few years. I made things. As luck would have it, Etsy had just opened her virtual doors. Kismet! An online handmade marketplace was exactly what I needed.
Over the next few years my work changed a lot. I became a metalsmith. The business blossomed and I started to think of myself as an entrepreneur. Then it blossomed a bit too much, wilted under the strain, and I had a chance to prune back to the parts I love most. Every step of the way I've had this tribe of fairy godmothers following me around, buying my work and saying the sweetest things. I am so, so grateful to all of you for that.
These days I work when I can from a little studio in the old house I'm fixing up. I make jewelry from recycled silver and paper and resin. I hope that the jewelry you chose makes you feel beautiful, melts your heart or makes you smile. And I hope that you will love it.
Owner, Designer, Maker
Hi! I'm Betsy. I'm a metalsmith and mixed media artist. I love happy feelings, the smell that wafts up from the pages of old books and things that exist for beauty's sake.
