Fourth House Designs is a macrame home goods and accessories boutique. Each item blends natural, bohemian, dark boho, cottagecore, and eclectic styles with powerful energy and intention. Rugs. Mats. Baskets. Fest Wear. Tabletop. Bags. Pet beds. And new ideas are always in the works.

It's great to meet y'all. I'm Michelle, the owner and creator of Fourth House Designs. I am self-taught in the art of macrame, and always experimenting with new ways to organize cords into patterns. My crafts are original and occasionally freestyle designs, hand-tied with precision and care. I pour my identity and soul into my craft and I absolutely love it.

My macrame practice began in 2020 as a much-needed hobby for my neurodivergent mind. (I also really wanted some very specific countertop baskets.) It didn't take long for the art form to completely ROPE me in and I began focusing on the utilitarian side of macrame. Creating things for others is my love language (puns are too). Naturally, my hobby evolved into a business.

"Just one more knot!" is a phrase I often tell my family when I'm crafting and they need me elsewhere. I say it nearly every day, and it has organically become my tagline. It's always just one more knot...indefinitely.

The astrology-lover in me chose the name Fourth House Designs. Without getting too deep into the subject, the 4th House is one of 12 astrological houses in which the sun, moon, and planets reside for periods of time. The 4th house is ruled by the moon and represents creating your home sweet home. My products are made with the intention to build this space for ourselves - a physical and mental sanctuary. My logo is the number 4 layered on silhouettes of a house and a D in the shape of a crescent moon.

Outside of macrame, I am mom of 2 human kids and 3 furry ones, wife of a superstellar husband, family and friend to a brilliant and hilarious bunch, children's author/illustrator, plant-based eater, caffeine inhaler, empath, spiritual soul, costume-party lover and strong advocate of education and mental health and wellness.

A portion of my sales are donated to CHADD.org, an organization devoted to improving the lives of people affected by ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - of which I am very familiar).
