Announcement   Why do I make these shirts? It's simple: hope. Hope for progress. Hope that one voice, or many voices united, can make a difference. Hope that love and kindness and bravery and the best of human nature can persist. These aren't made to be slogan t-shirts, or meaningless words. They're meant to be the wind at your back as you go out into the world and make positive change:

"Hope makes us dangerous--not just soothed. It doesn't relieve us of duty as much as it reminds us that wind is at our back and unseen reinforcements at our sides. Yes, hope reassures , but it also emboldens. It doesn't just offer us a promise. It offers us a push." -Rev. Sara LaWall

About

Fourth Wave Feminist Apparel: Fierce Vintage Fashion for the Modern Feminist

*Fourth Wave was just ranked in the top 1% of all shops on Etsy for 2017!*

As seen on Women Transcend Podcast www.womentranscend.com

As of now, women are wearing Fourth Wave’s feminist tshirts in all 50 states, 24 countries, and counting. Each of my designs are based on historical vignettes from women's history and pay homage to badass, courageous women who refused to know their place. We believe in honoring the legacy of women who insisted on their right to vote, own property, access education, ride a bicycle, wear pants, etc. by inspiring today's generation of women to speak up, stand up, and shine. Each design incorporates vintage political cartoons, pins, rally fliers, and art to serve as a subtle reminder of significant courage and strength.

I want to empower women by encouraging them to embrace a broad definition of feminism, feel great in their own skin, and raise their voices to effect positive change.

We can do it!

Each shirt or tank top in our line of feminist apparel is screen-printed by hand, by me. My shirts are all fair trade and our inks are water-based. Not only is water-based ink better for the environment, but it will slowly fade over time to maximize the vintage appearance I'm going for.

If you have an idea for a design, or a favorite moment from women's history, please send! I love suggestions.

I support intersectional feminism and am working to make the world a better place. A shirt is a little thing, but if it makes someone feel bolder, braver, or more connected to others who are trying to build a more equitable world, it's not so little.

ABOUT FOURTH WAVE'S SHIRTS:
Please note that the women's shirts sold on Fourth Wave are not your standard babydoll. The relaxed fit triblend runs true to size and is a not a juniors style (read: not clingy), ultra soft, ultra light, preshrunk, and is a flattering, feminine fit on pretty much anybody. Choose your normal size. A sizing guide can be found with the photos of each shirt.

Everything you see here is made by hand, by me, with real ink and real screens. I aim for perfection, and I want you to be happy with your shirt. But as a non-Walmart human, every now and then I don't notice that I got a dab of ink on my hand, etc. Please let me know if there's a problem with your shirt. I want you to love it, and I want you to wear it with pride.

You should also know I use waterbased inks. I use them because they're nontoxic (and emit water when I cure them instead of deadly chemicals so I don't expire in my studio). I love the way they look with these retro designs. The white ink is NOT 100 percent opaque on all tshirt colors, and will show a little bit of your tshirt color through the ink (scroll through the photos above to see what I mean). If you're looking for a thick, opaque ink (that will crack and peel as it ages), you want a mass-produced shirt from Walmart.

Last thing! Please note that all orders are made on-demand (e.g., I don't keep a massive stock of shirts with me at all times). This helps me keep costs as low as possible and give you tons of options in size and style.
