Announcement   Thanks for choosing Fox Designs Jewelry specializing in recycled jewelry featuring previously played guitar and piano strings. I am also on Instagram: Fox Designs Jewelry.

A word on sizing: After making dozens of bracelets for friends and family; I was custom fitting each one for comfort, I started measuring them. Then after taking a brief survey, it seems that my bracelet sizes roughly line up with adult (male) T shirt sizes. I can wear both xs and s comfortably (at 5'1" and 130 lbs small frame) meanwhile my boyfriend is 5'11" and 200 lbs large frame, and can wear both a large and extra large comfortably. So if you are buying for a gift, roughly estimate their T shirt size and if they are small framed, get the smaller size, etc.

Thank you for supporting independent artists! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Custom Orders are always welcome!

I love using vintage and recycled or found items in my jewelry. If you know anyone who plays a stringed instrument please let him or her know about me. I use the recycled guitar, piano, banjo, cello (just about anything) strings to make bracelets.

In addition, I have a line of jewelry named after fellow Ohioan, Annie Oakley that feature vintage spent gun shells. If you love a member of our military or law enforcement and have one of their spent shells, I can make you a unique and special keepsake!

I go to the post office at least twice a week. My dogs enjoy the walk so we go more often if necessary! I also have 100% positive feedback so shop with confidence!

All of the buckeye jewelry features natural buckeye nuts that I have collected, drilled, and polished just for you! Since they are all natural, each one is unique! They have also been preserved using a chemical free process that ensures each piece will last for generations.

All recycled guitar string bracelets come in a recycled guitar string paper envelope. They will usually fit in a large envelope (like a birthday card). All other jewelry comes in a gift box.
My products come from a smoke free home. (I didn't realize how much this was an issue until I bought a used Wii controller; SMELLY! EwW!)

If you are familiar with Fire Mountain Gems, you’ll see my jewelry featured in the 2009-2010 Best Sellers Catalog on page 210 and in the Gallery of Designs

About

Saving useful things from the landfill for over 30 years

I first got interested in expressing myself creatively when I attended an alternative middle school and majored in art in seventh and eighth grade (THANK YOU Ms. Denison!) In high school, as soon as I got my driver’s license, I started frequenting the bead stores around central Ohio and making my own jewelry. And was encouraged by my high school art teacher, Mrs. Karshner, to attend Ohio University. As a college student and young professional, I continued making my own jewelry out of necessity. Teachers are overwhelmingly underpaid but I’m sure you know that!

I no longer work full time in the education field so welcome to my creative outlet! My mother also heavily influences me; she is very creative and crafty. We often sell our work at craft shows in Columbus, Ohio. After being approached with offers to buy my jewelry, I decided to take a chance and try selling it online. So here we are!...

I currently get strings from:
• Nick Collura at Insea Sound Shop in Nelsonville, Ohio www.insea.biz/index.html
• Dick Evener at Signature Music in Lancaster, Ohio www.signaturemusiccompany.com
• Gene Imbody at United Lutherie in Jacksonville, Ohio www.unitedlutherie.com
• Frank McDermott at Blue Eagle Music in Athens, Ohio www.blueeaglemusic.com
* Tim Spires at Stix in Time in Lancaster, Ohio www.stixintime.com

Howdy! When I am not making jewelry I am enjoying the company of my several pets, being outdoors or listening to live music. There is a feeling like a drug in my brain when I can make something useful out of something someone else has discarded.
