I've been shopping via Etsy since 2010, and this has been the best transaction yet. Not only is the necklace stunning, the packaging and customer service were exquisite. The shop owner sent a lovely post card from Riga, Latvia that I shared with my students in class this morning. Thanks!

This beautiful necklace is made up of so many diverse elements ... Lamp work beads, smooth smaller beads, metal spacers and a wonderful ornate clasp. Comfortable to wear and gorgeous on, this is a unique and lovely piece. Love it!!!

About

Creating from beads

I started making jewelry about eight years ago. Initially I only wanted to make couple of pieces for myself, but making jewelry turned out a very addictive thing! I made more and more and thus learned more and more, and it felt really good!

Gradually I started to sell my things to acquaintances and to people in local craft fairs. As I wanted to expand the circle of my customers, I opened the shop at Etsy. My shop name, foxfragaria, includes fox, which is my totem animal, and fragaria, which means strawberry in Latin.

I make necklaces, earrings and others things from all kinds of materials but I always carefully select them to achieve the result that feels fresh and appealing. Primarily I compose from quality stone beads that I love the most, as well as handmade lampwork beads created by my good friend, talented lampworker Laila Strazdina. Sometimes I mix materials in whimsical combinations. Gemstones, wood, glass, resin, metal and other stuff can be put in the same item if I happen to love colors, forms and rhythms those materials make.

Whenever I see anyone wearing my jewelry and looking so good, I feel enormous joy and gratitude. But even before that, I mean, before finding the wearer, it is fun! Thinking about designs and making them real and tactile is a great delight.

The interesting thing is that sometimes the simplest designs are the ones that had required most work and consideration. The finished product may be looking made so easily, almost effortlessly thrown together, but in fact every single bead is in it's right place and that's why it looks neat and done. And sometimes it takes a lengthy experimentation until the right solution is achieved.

I would love to hear from you! Perhaps I can help you to implement your idea into action? Perhaps you have something to say? Don't hesitate to contact me!

See you around!
