Announcement   Welcome to Fox Parlor! Here you can find my hand knitted infinity scarves, fabric headbands, sun bucket hats and what I like to call "the perfect bag." More things are in the works: shopping bags, fabric bins, pin cushions, eye glass and pencil cases, and pee wee tents!

I believe it's good for the soul (and the environment) to make sure we surround ourselves with useful AND beautiful things, thereby lessening the need for beautiful but useless things. You can read more about Fox Parlor in the about section. Thank you for stopping by!

And, if you are ever in Sierra City, California, please stop on by my storefront.

About

Fox Parlor

This shop was originally launched when I had a graphic design boutique firm in San Francisco. We sold some of our paper products in the shop. I wound that firm down and joined up with a friend to build a new business, a communications firm.

After Fox Parlor was iced for a bit, it morphed into a small seasonal gifts & good store in the mountain town where I live. I sell only hand-crafted items, most source from and bought through etsy, some are local crafters, some friends and I also sell things I make myself. The town really needed something and I had a great office space in the heart of town and couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy everything I ever wanted from crafters and share with the world.

The world doesn't need more useless, mass produced you-know-what. So, I only sell useful, useable items, made with love and craft, by hand. I believe that form and function belong together. If we make sure the things we use on a daily basis are beautiful, we live a richer life, and hopefully end up with less clutter in our lives.

Since my store is only open for a few months, during the summer season when we have visitors in town, I thought it would be fun to sell some of my stuff on etsy during the winter time.

Thanks for stopping by, and hope you enjoy some of my stuff!

Thanks for visiting Fox Parlor! Everything sold in the shop is designed and sewn by me, in my studio in Sierra City, California. We live in the woods in the Sierra Nevada and I sew a little of the beauty around me into each item I make.

I create items I like to use myself -- so each style and design is well tested by me and my friends. I wouldn't sell something I wouldn't wear or use myself!

I only work with high-quality materials, whether designer 100% cotton fabric or high quality yarns. I really put a lot of thought into color and pattern combinations and I hope you like what I've created.

I also run a small brick and mortar seasonal shop here in our mountain town, open only during the summer. I sell only hand made items, some mine, most made by other esty crafters. If ever in the area, please stop by!

I believe we can all benefit from slowing down a bit, stop to enjoy the beauty that surrounds us and take the time to make -- and enjoy things made -- by hand. There are too many things made and sold that only end up in a landfill all too quickly. Gifts should be usable things made with craft, care and love. And I mean gifts for others or yourself!

All the items in my shop are already made. The photos you see are of the item you are buying.

Thanks for stopping by!

Returns and exchanges
I strive to describe and photograph items I sell in a way that should give you a really good idea as to what you're buying. But, I also realize that sometimes things don't work out as planned. So, if you are not happy with your purchase, I'll be very sad to hear so but will of course refund your purchase price once I receive the item returned in its original and unused condition within seven days of your receipt. I would love it if you could let me know right away that this is the case.

Unfortunately, I do not refund shipping and you will be responsible for the costs associated with return shipping.
Payment
You can pay for your purchase with wither Etsy Direct Checkout using a credit card, or PayPal, using a credit card or your paypal account.

All orders from California will be charged 7.50% sales tax.
Shipping
I ship all packages First Class mail with delivery confirmation via the USPS. It's the most cost effective option for the items I sell.

I will ship your package 1-2 business days after your payment has been received. For custom orders estimate 2 weeks for me to make the item and ship it out. But, I'll convo with you with a more accurate time estimate when you order it.

If you want your package shipped expedited (priority mail or express) or via another carrier, I am happy to do so for an additional shipping fee.*

I always ship to the paypal address, so please double-check -- wait, triple check -- that the paypal address you select is accurate.

I do ship internationally as well, First Class International via the United States Post Office. Packages go out within a couple of business days after payment. Please be ware that packages shipped overseas have to go through customs which can delay packages by up to 6 weeks. This is not common but can happen. Any additional duties applied on international shipments are the responsibility of the customer.

Shipping cost includes shipping, packaging and handling.

*Either send me a convo before you buy and I can change the listing to be custom for your and to reflect the updated shipping cost. Or, you can contact me after you pay for the item(s) and I can send you an updated invoice and once you've paid the additional shipping charge, the package will go out. If the latter, please just make sure you let me know right away as I try to ship all paid items as fast as possible!
Additional policies and FAQs
All the items in my shop are already made. The photos you see are of the item you are buying.

I love custom work! All custom work is to be paid in full before work begins. All custom work is nonrefundable.

So, if you like a design style but need a different size, or see fabrics you'd like combined differently, or have any special requests, please let me know and I can work up a custom order.

My studio is smoke & cat free. I do have a dog, a Chinese Crested Powderpuff, which is a dog with hair, not fur. And however much I've tried to have her help me with my sewing & knitting she refuses to as she rather stays out on the couch looking out the window or runs around the house tossing her piggy toy. But she's around nonetheless.
